Twenty Two
The whispers almost made Amelia cower; she had never been the attention of so many people at once. She wore a royal blue peplum dress that hugged her body like it was made just for her. Sharon had insisted it was the perfect dress for her first day at work. And although she wasn't the subject matter, she couldn't help but feel self-conscious about everything.
"We have a new Managing Director. Most of us won't know him because he is new in the country, but we know him by name. Meet Mike Afonso."
The noise increased. Mike already gathered a lot of attention because of his looks; the fact that he is Mike Afonso only increased the murmur among the workers. Especially the ladies, Mia caught some of them adjusting their dresses in a filthy manner. She sneered at them. He was a married man, bitches.
"And this is Amelia Myers, she is his Assistant."
