First Day First Disaster

Stepping in the elevator Liliana could feel the punching pain in her lower belly. Of course, she couldn't afford to be late on her first day as well as she didn't want Jason to have any chance to undermine her in any way. Not when she had done everything to avoid him at any cost but still landed directly in his trap.

She pressed on the buttons and waited for the doors to close, while her hands went towards her lower belly to wrap around. While waiting to reach her destined floor she was mentally preparing herself for the strain that was about to be exerted on her whether physical or mental.

" Ding "

Sound was heard as the elevator stopped. Since it was connected to the CEO's office directly, hence crowd was not a problem. Upon entering the floor, one could see a huge clear space like a hall cum corridor accompanying a waiting area, a lounge, a small cafeteria in a corner. Moving ahead, the hall was diverted in two different directions, dividing it into two separate offices, one being the CEO's office and the other being under renovation.

Liliana could easily see the minimalistic modern touch given to the interiors of the building, giving it a clean, cozy and warm look thanks to the warm tones included along with the dark tones to enhance the professional vibe of the area. Walking ahead towards her destination, she saw the secretary's office desk in the open area before the main office, where two young women were seated, being surrounded by work.

' Why was I appointed if he already had two of them, and here, never mind be professional, all big officials do have a PA along with a separate secretarial team. You are behaving like your father never had a- '

" Why am I thinking about the past now. It's all because of him, if not why would I be here. Well never mind, it's a good start already, so stop thinking anything about it and now and be professional. "

" Miss Liliana, right? "

One of the secretaries answered. Liliana deduced that maybe she was the head secretary and the other who was looking at her with a smiling face must have been new or under training because the way the former was scolding her a few minutes earlier was looking like she had made a mistake for which she was pouting like a small child getting scolded by her mother.

" Yes, Hello good morning. I was called here for the position of personal assistant for Mr Williams. The receptionist directly asked me to report here. "

Liliana replied with a polite professional smile.

" Yes, Ms. Green, but first you will have to meet Mr Williams for further briefing and other stuff you should know. Since you are a PA to him, he has the authority to decide your work schedule and duties as well. So, see soon. "

' Well, what did she meant by schedule! ‘

‘Don't I have a 9 to 5/7 job like others? I can go with the duty part, but this is going above my head. If he tries anything, I swear I am going to beat the shit out of him and run away again. '
