“You’ve been silent since the physician's visit,” Sherry heard Stark say as she lay motionless in bed the next morning.

They had at most a few hours before they had to check in at the airport. It didn’t take an expert investigator to notice how Sherry stared blankly at the ceiling. Everything seemed to go smoothly after that. She assumed they had taught Matthias a lesson because of how he had retreated after that. With him out of the picture, she would have felt better, but then, something deep inside her made her worry if what he said was true after all.
