Chapter 46 Memory (3)

Madam Yun and young Huli Jing calmed down. They stood up and went out of the alley. A carriage is already waiting for them. They went in and Hu'er followed in sorrow. Madam Yun wipes young Huli Jing's face and body while telling her what she shouldn't have done, that there are many bad guys and things like that. She went on and on reprimanding young Huli Jing like a mother would do.

The carriage stops, and they arrive at the back door of Moon Pavilion. In the back of Moon Pavilion is tons of two-story houses where all her sisters, servants, guard, and another member of the Moon Pavilion are living. She has her own house with Madam Yun and two servants. According to them, it is because they are raising her as a top-notch female and her mission is vital to the Moon Pavilion. Back then she didn't know what her mission was but was happy to share Madam Yun's burden.

When they arrived at the house, Madam Yun told the servant to take her to bathe. She then went into her room. Hu'er tried to go to Madam Yun's room and succeeded. She then saw that there is already a tub that is full of water ready for her to take a bath. It looks like the servants already know that Madam Yun will take a bath once she comes back.

Since Madam Yun is only going to take a bath, Hu'er went back to where young Huli Jing is. She's sitting on a bed watching the two servants fill up her tab. She hid something below her bed when the two went out to get the last two water.

When they came in, Young Huli Jing was in the same spot waiting for them. The two servants did their work, one stripped young Huli Jing out of her stinky clothes and the other was looking for her change of clothes.

She takes a bath with the help of two servants. The two servants are asking her where she goes, why she is smelly, and what happened to them. The tone made Young Huli Jing want to tell them everything.

Young Huli Jing sniffed and told them what happened from time to time she would sob. Since young Huli Jing can't see their expression she thought that the two servants are curious and sympathizing with her throughout the storytelling, yet it's completely the opposite. The other one looked indifferent and kept on rubbing her back, while the other one even rolled her eyes.

They comforted her and said that going outside is dangerous, she shouldn't go out anymore, and that she was lucky that she could live here. Completely brainwashing the young Huli Jing. Hu'er watched all of this, pitying herself. She's naive to believe them, too naive that she didn't see all the signs that she should have seen.

First, it was Madam Yun. Now the two servants whom she trusted so much when she was a child are also someone whom she shouldn't trust. These two servants didn't last under her though. When she started serving men, an old lady who knew how to take care of a woman and make sure she wouldn't get pregnant was swapped in with another strong young servant.

After the two servants were done serving her they went away. Young Huli Jing just sat on her bed, in a daze. Hu'er didn't wait there, she walked out and went through Madam Yun's door. It was just in time for her to see a black-clothed masked man come inside Madam Yun's window.

She couldn't hear what they are talking about but the man gave Madam Yun a letter and she gave the letter back. The two talked again and the man went away the same way he went in. Hu'er waited for Madam Yun to open the letter, wanting to try if she could read it.

She didn't wait for long, Madam Yun opened the letter. Hu'er went to her back to read the letter too. Her eyebrow shot up. The language they used is from Hu Country. That letter is extremely familiar to her.

She got three letters from that sender. It's the one who holds her mission. The first mission is to learn how to seduce men. They have different tastes, so she needs to suit their taste. Two, to seduce her targets; top merchants, the generals, princes, some ministers, and the emperor. She was given a list and their taste in women. The third is the final letter. To commence the last show, gather all of them. At first, she didn't know that this includes her dying. But she got information about it. She asked Madam Yun, the sister she's very close with, to marry first before the last show. It's her last wish. She might not have been able to save all the innocent but she did save some.

She just finished the first paragraph when the scene suddenly changed. Young Huli Jing is reading a book right now. This book is the thing that saved her. Well, that's what she thought back then. When the bad man followed her, whom young Huli Jing assumed was going to sell her, she went into the alley in panic and tripped.

The thing that tripped her is this book. This book made young Huli Jing hide in a mountain of trash. She took that book and used it as a cover. It was just in time that three men ran in. When young Huli Jing peeked, she saw two men beating a man to death. This made her horrified. She was already crying and only stopped herself from making noise.

After that, she hid that book in her clothes and didn't let Madam Yun see it. Madam Yun is kind and gentle, but very controlling. Madam Yun would only let her read what she wanted Huli Jing to learn. Anything except for that is not something she can do or learn.

Hu'er just watches Young Huli Jing read the book from time to time. Hiding the book when someone is coming. Hu'er couldn't go to young Huli Jing's back to see or read the book. She wanted to remember what the book is but couldn't. She then squinted her eyes to read the small letters on the cover book, and her eyes widened.
