The untouchable blade

As Hideji began to swing his blade at Soi Fon, capable of landing a lethal strike, his body was indefinitely pummelled to the ground before her as someone had just knee-dived straight into him and forced their full weight on to his back, pinning him to the ground; blood spluttering out of his mouth on impact.

"You look like you've seen a ghost, are you okay?" A concerned Tetsuzaemon pondered to a stunned Soi Fon.

"I take it this is the enemy we're supposed to be handling. My apologies for being late, I was caught up in training, again..." Tetsuzaemon exclaimed with a shameful grin, and his hand touching the back of his head.

As he began to unveil his zanpakuto, and released it, ready to take in the fugitive by force, Soi Fon quickly alarmed him to stop, but it was too late as his zanpakuto had already been sealed. Even pinned, Hideji's zanpakuto had no trouble with its function and sought to seal all zanpakutos in the vicinity. Hideji's zanpakuto had a rather unique nature to it in that it loathed other zanpakuto spirits, akin to his master's hate for shinigami and sought to seal their powers and stop them from functioning. It was this special ability that gave him the upper hand against the noble he killed, and it was this ability that could spell disaster for the captains now.

Tetsuzaemon and Soi Fon flash-stepped away from the enemy, understanding they had to respect their enemy and his abilities and come up with a proper strategy. Soon after, Tetsuzaemon stood in front, telling Soi Fon to rest; he could tell even without being up-close that she had exhausted herself using those techniques in conjunction with one another and that she had already fulfilled her role. Tetsuzaemon then attempted to deal with the prisoner using a variety of different Hado to no positive result. It seemed that as well as the zanpakuto excreting a series of bandages that wrap around other zanpakutos to silence them, he could excrete them to absorb reiatsu and thus minimize the damage from Hado techniques. Although this occurred, it seemed Hideji's movements were getting slower and slower, with him relying mostly on his zanpakuto to carry the fight. Tetsuzaemon seeing that he was at his wits end in techniques to deal with the nuisance that stood before him, grunted as he called out his bankai.

"Roku gen'ei no ha (six phantom blades)," Tetsuzaemon announced as his zanpakuto's blade seemed to unsheathe the bandages that once bound and six large phantom blades begun to emerge in the sky above him. As Soi Fon would mentally note, it was as though she was looking at smaller copies of the previous seventh division captain's zanpakuto, and she wondered if they shared similar abilities. However, this was soon disproven as the captain went in to attack Hideji directly, with the phantom blades following in pursuit as though tied to him; in reality, they were following the direction of the main blade which the captain held at all times. As Tetsuzaemon swung his blade down in the direction of his enemy, seemingly attacking the air, the phantom blades converged and struck simultaneously at the fugitive and severely harmed him with six lethal strikes, forcing him to his knees; even through the bandages that Hideji launched in an attempt to nullify the attack.

Impossible. What the hell is going on? Why did my ability not work? Why could I not move? How did his blades manage to strike me!?

"Sorry if you thought that ability of yours would work to stop my bankai. Although it is capable of being a great nuisance to most shinigami, cases like mine are an unfortunate counter. The blades my bankai generates are not physical but rather show up as apparitions and they do not materialize and take physical form until the blades have reached the intended object they're aimed at. Thus, sealing them isn't possible. As for your inability to move, well that would be Soi Fon's doing..."

Soi Fon glanced with a smirk on her face, realizing the effect of her bankai still had its impact. The two stages to her bankai relate to the two different stingers she has. The larger one applies a paralyzing effect with each successful strike, and the shorter one applies a poison when it lands on a prior imprint, that over time attacks the atomic structure of compounds within a substance, degrading it from the inside out. Although she never landed any hits with the second stinger, the multiple hits she landed with the first resulted in their enemy's movement being limited relatively quickly. It seemed that the fight was over, as Hideji had no way to deal with Tetsuzaemon's bankai nor was able to adequately fight; he was always only ever able to deal with other shinigami so easily because of his ability's success. He himself was an amateur as a shinigami, barely developing his zanjutsu or learning Kido and thus never really stood a chance against the strongest and most capable of shinigami. As Hideji looked down to the ground, accepting defeat tears begun to flow.

In a sudden rage he shouted: "NO! I won't let you lot stop me, I won't let you lock me away again, I won't accept being punished for doing the right thing. What is this justice you lot believe in, so corrupt it aims simply to protect your own!? Why am I the criminal for saving the woman I love!?Is it not you who is evil!? I hate you; I hate you shinigami!" Harming his lungs gravely talking so strongly and passionately while heavily injured, he spat more blood out on the ground in front of him, tearing up at the prospect he would never see the woman he loved again, that his vow meant nothing. In one last attempt to rectify things, using up the last of his resolve to fight off the paralysis, he raised his blade to his neck and plunged it right through, instantly killing him while the captains looked in horror and shock, unexpecting this action...

Within squad one barracks, a desolate atmosphere filled the air as the captain commander seemed to be completely alone now, abandoned within the dim lit barracks as it's last protector. He simply gazed over the seireitei, watching the fights from a distance; awaiting the ultimate result of his captains bringing back the fugitives.

"Are you sure it was smart to leave yourself alone and defenceless like this Captain Commander?" a lurking Aizen questioned with a smirk on his face...
