The Fall of Cain

"There you have it, Cain… And that is the most sacred treasure in our Kotetsu village, and as the oldest son of our family, you have been chosen to be the owner of the legendary bey, that why…Train hard to let yourself be strong and let the bey, choose you, prove your worth."

Little Cain stared starstruck, at his father's tale and nodded excitedly. There was never a day he stopped training. facing all hardship, climbing up mountains, being the seas conqueror as to fight with a shark and tame the whale, octopus, and what it has to offer even at the cost of his life since he was willing to go that far, and conquering any disaster on land, desert, and Tundra all for the event of his life as a Blader. 

When he was 17, after finally feeling like returning and challenging everyone in the village he proved he was the strongest. The village held a ceremony, and all hoped he would be chosen as the owner of their ancestors Bey.

But…the Bey spirit of the Void, didn't emerge with his presence and bowed to Cain.

rather, it chose Abel, the sheltered young boy who was innocent, pure, and had the brightest Bey spirit.

"w-what…" Cain muttered on his breath, him…who always challenged obstacles, trained until he could see the door of hell to escape it and return to meet it again to only be stronger and not be fazed of dying, and Abel the weakling that always loses to him…Cain couldn't accept it…

when the village applauded Abel and held the ceremony, Cain sat there on his knees, in disbelief and anger, jealousy all swayed.

His father gently taps his shoulder. "Cain, Why are you angry? Why are you dejected? If you act rightly, you will be accepted; but if not, sin lies in wait at the door: its urge is for you, yet you can rule over it."

"..." Cain didn't feel any words that could express him. He held his tongue in and with fury destroyed the shrine causing everyone to panic and flee. 

Abel didn't want to see Cain's fiery anger and wanted to calm him down, but it was no use, so both of them dueled, it was the first time Abel put Serenity Void Dragon to use, as their ancestors did and let it rip.

Cain's partner during his years of training and mastery gave him an edge against the inexperienced boy.

"ALL I DID! WORKING MYSELF TO DEATH, AND TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO WIELD SERENITY! WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE YOU!!!"

The two beys clashed fiercely, creating huge blasts sending black smoke from every clash. Abel grew scared, the darkness inside his once beloved brother had been a victim of the dark power.

"Brother…!!! this is not you…please come back to your senses!"

"Oh, I'm awake…GO! Sapphire Serviper!! Special Move, Barrage Onslaught!" 

The Bey, Cain owned was an ATK type with Stamina oriented, its energy ring, Serpent. Composed of 8 small serpent spikes formed and interlocked it's like the hydra and like the hydra it's vicious in its strikes. "GO, GO! FASTER!!! FASTER!!!"

Cain couldn't stop himself from laughing maniacally chuckling like it was a disease that infected him.

"HAHAHAHA!!!" placed his palm on his face leaned his head back and continued to laugh, Abel could tell, and gulped.

This was not his brother.

"Serenity, hold on, use zig zag and create distance and counter with your own barrage." Serenity Void, listened and executed the moves and, after dodging one of the attacks, Serenity Void spun past Serviper and spun so it could have a moment to strike, and when Serviper followed after, it began the counterstrike pushing the Bey back and Cain, let out an angry scowl.

"How dare you… you're just a weakling who never experienced real hardships…and the bey choose you…it's unacceptable…"

Cain's aura manifested dark purple energy, the same energy both the boys heard from the battle with Pegasus and L Drago.

"Cain! Stop this madness!" they heard their father shouting after most of the villagers fled far away enough for the clash to continue.

"Are you also going to tell me, I'm not worthy enough!?"

"Stop Acting like a child, and accept the bey chose your brother."

Cain began to laugh, his already placed hand on his face began to shake. "I was right!!! everything was against me from the start!!! Hahaha…HAHAHAHA!!!"

"Brother…?"

"Shut up…Twerp…"

Soon, Cain bey changed its aura, it became…Ruby Serpent…

its color changed from blue to the utmost darkest red color and Cain was not finished. He uttered these very words that will haunt him for the rest of his life until he can find salvation again…

"DARK Power Special move…Red Sea…"

A huge spiral of red water erupted under the now-transformed Ruby Serpent and destroyed everything in its way, the weather changed to darker clouds, lightning struck, and you could hear the faint cry in the distance.

Cain stood, unharmed…lifeless…everything was washed. on the ground…there was Serenity Void, not spinning, when he looked up, no one stood there…Abel…was gone…

His father…gone…

and probably…everyone in the village…the buildings were crashed and soaked after the huge destruction. he couldn't recognize the once happy village anymore…

Now…The Bey was his…The Serenity Void was now his…so why…does it not feel right…

Cain fell to his knees…laughing…crying…he was a mess and he knew how badly his sins won't stop haunting him…

After a time had passed, He held a small burial ceremony and invited himself to attend the end of Kotetsu village.

He sat on his knees staring into the quiet sky, soon covered in mall flickering stars.

The two beys were beside each other, and now with their spirit looming over the distracted boy, his future had once again fallen apart because of his action.

"..."

Serenity Void could tell, his anger had vanished, but not completely lost. so it awaits on what the boy will do now.

Cain slowly got up, dusted the dust off, and picked the two beys up in his hands.

Staring at Serenity Void, his voice sounded almost dry because he had gone without refreshing himself with water after the chaos he created two days ago.

"I…know I'm not worthy…I see it now…that's why…I won't…use you…I will bury you…in the center of this village and hope destiny has a plan for both of us…"

And Cain held to his words, he buried The Legendary Bey in the center and took off and traveled to his isolation, he traveled to a mountain the highest mountain he learned in the books his grandfather had told him in the library.

"Ruby Serpent, huh..? seems like your transformation is due to me still being immature and still weak to the temptation of greed and power…"

tightening his fist in a fit of a second, softly dropping his strength, and succumbing to his defeat. "I'm dangerous to everyone around me…I shouldn't exist anymore…"

After his days walking up the mountain, with no substance, he continued his way up, stumbling onto a snake on his path, he didn't feel the need to be scared, rather he approached it, even at the cost of dying to its poison. 

The snake was wary and scared crawled and slithered up his arm and found a seat on his shoulder, he gave his new friend a small pet and continued his way to the mountain.

The snake softly hissed him in his ear, making him chuckle. "hey, stop that…haha haha!~"

That was his first genuine laugh since he became someone different, yet he felt he still had that small piece of him.

after finally arriving he had to bid his friend goodbye.

"little buddy…you can't follow me after from here…" The snake tilted its head stuck its tongue out and made a hissing sound.

"Where I go, there is no return…you have not faced any sins, nor do I think you will…so go and have fulfilled your life…because there is none for me…"

The snake slithered back into the forest, and Cain was about to head to the mountains alone. But the Snake came back and this time, it had something in its mouth. It was its fang…

Cain knelt and the snake slowly dropped it in his palm.

"little buddy..?"

The snake once again leaned towards his hand and gently rub her soft head on his hand gently.

"your kindness is wasted on someone like me…but thank you…I treasure it…"

Then…

The snake left and it was the last time, he ever saw it again, and he ventured inside the mountain and 1000 years passed.
