More Beautiful When You Smile

Yu Li gave him a true smile after he finished showing off his weapons to lure her in his sect and under his tutelage.

"It's okay. I don't want anything materialistic if I am going to treat you as my master but I want a promise in return that you have to help me when the time comes. You have to take the vow of death and then I will tell you everything." Yu Li without beating under the bush told him her following intentions.

Lei Xieren was astonished. What was so terrible that she needed a vow of death for him to know the truth. It was surprising but he saw her clear and bright eyes that have no malign in them and surprisingly his heart trusted her more than he would so he agreed.

"I Lei Xieren, peak master of Snow Sword mountain promises to never divulge anything that could harm my fourth disciple and if I break this vow may heaven take my life."

A brilliant light streak from the sky came and divided into two and merged into the bodies of the man and the child.

"Can you tell me now?"

Yu Li was grateful. She never thought that she would suddenly gain such a foolish and softy teacher just after coming into this world. Her start was tragic but it brought her to her master. It was her luck that she jumped down and fell on this land alive to meet him.

"Yes, Shifu! I am six years old, the crown prince of the Jing Nuo kingdom Ye Yu Li." She told him the truth waiting for his opinion on whether to continue or not.

Lei Xieren remembered that this kingdom was literally in the backyard of the stormy abyss and was currently in danger. She was in the abyss with him so does that mean she was hunted by those rogue cultivators.

"You!...you are chased by people...you didn't come on your own…" he whispered by Yu Li heard him clearly.

"Yes, I was and how could I come here on my own. Have you lost your mind shifu?" Yu Li was perplexed. Don't tell her that she has really recognized a lunatic as her teacher? It would be such a disaster.

Lei Xieren woke up from his daze as he heard the silent ridicule in her words. How can he behave like this when she was sincerely helping him before and she was right, how will she know that he was here, she was just a kid.

He was here in search of her, not the other way around. "En, yes… Shifu was wrong. Do you remember who were they? Do you want me to take revenge for your kingdom? Are your parents alive? What about your siblings? Did they fell down while only you are safe on the land? You should have told me before! I could not go up but I am perfectly fine to go down and rescue people. How could you be so silly?"

He fussed over her as he realized the seriousness of the situation. Yu Li could feel that his feelings for her were true and he was really a funny man to worry about a stranger he had met just now.

"Calm down, shifu. I was the only when that fell from the top. Well… my parents are dead and my sisters...they don't live here. I was the only one who escaped from the palace when they sieged the kingdom." Yu Li remained calm when she narrated everything but her voice choked when she told him about her parents. Maybe it was the feelings of the original Yu Li that she felt the pain of losing her parents while recounting everything that she knew before coming down.

Lei Xieren was blank for a moment as he swallowed hard after knowing the tragic destiny of Jing Nuo kingdom, it was not hard for him to imagine this scenario as he was kind of already aware about the Shen Min'er hideous plan after living on this continent for almost 10 years.

"So, what do you plan on doing next?" Lei Xieren asked. "You are so small and young. How will you find that witch?"

Yu Li saw how Lei Xieren's face changed when he mentioned Shen Min'er and was perplexed. Why was he so reactive when it came to her?

"Shifu! If you don't mind me asking… why do you hate that woman? Is there something that I should know?" Yu Li asked him in return.

Anyway, she has not decided what to do next in this life, all she knew that the book brought her here and she was not sure whether Song Hua was also facing similar problems like her. It was all so disturbing.

"She is...bad. I don't like her. Forget about her and my problem, tell me, what is it that you want? We have time. I still need 3 years to break the restriction and go out of this floating land."

Yu Li gave him a confused look. Lei Xieren chuckled at his cute disciple. She was acting like a small adult with all the frowning and insulting but he could not help but find her adorable. If he had a kid, she would be just like her.

There are opportunities but also restrictions to get the desired result." He explained.

"I understand, shifu. Since we can't go out for 3 years then I will study here under you. After that, I will save my kingdom and I don't know whether my older sisters would want to get revenge on Shen Min'er or not I would definitely kill that woman. Please forgive me for my ruthlessness."

Lei Xieren was satisfied with her answer. He had already known that the cultivation world was full of hypocrites that only knew how to preach about righteousness but did Shady things behind everyone's back so to see a girl to stand on her straight viewpoints was a refreshing change for him.

Besides, he doesn't like Shen Min'er and even if Yu Li Wanted to kill that menace he would gladly help her in that as she was not in the wrong.

The world will be more peaceful after the death of the snake-like Shen Min'er.

"I got it. No need to explain but what I am curious about is why do you dress up as a boy? There should be a specific reason for that if I guess." He spoke aloud almost hitting the point.

Ye Yu Li was not sure whether to tell him about all the dirty laundry of her mother's wishes or let this matter go but she decided to tell her teacher about it. He was a good man. She could feel it in her heart albeit a little silly but nonetheless good.

"It was because of my mother. I don't know much about it. I can't let anyone know about my gender even more so now after the attack." Yu Li told him the primary reason as she was not sure about the seriousness of this problem. For now, her main concern was to stay out of trouble and cultivate properly before going to kill that Shen Min'er. She owed it to her host. She knew the pain of losing the loved ones. She could not trust anyone before she saw the contents of the ring.

"Sure, if that is what you want I will not say anymore. You don't want these things then I will take it back for now. Let me tell you about this land…" Lei Xieren started telling her about their current situation.

He told her that they were on a special piece of land as he was still studying the nature of this place from the past two years. There was no special treasure or something valuable that could be inherited but this place was unique in itself. The soil and spiritual fluctuation in this land was strange and after his research, he concluded that this place was one of the vital points of the abyss.

"Vital point? Is this related to that restriction? This is keeping the peculiar phenomenon working in the abyss." Yu Li guessed. It was clear from his brightened eyes, he was practically in glee to discover this and only something like this was able to bind Sage Realm expert in this western continent.

It was the highest point of cultivation that could be attained in this land. The eastern continent was more prosperous and abundant in spiritual energy and has better options for cultivators.

Lei Xieren chuckled at her almost correct answer and was satisfied to swindle her under his tutelage. She was extraordinary.

"Yes, it is. The stormy abyss has three major floating lands that maintain the current position and we are standing on one of them. After three months I will be able to go on another part and after living in these two points, the abyss will automatically push us out. Ain't I great?" He asked for praises as he told her about his findings.

Yu Li chuckled in delight and it was the first smile that grazed her lips after coming in this world. This man was too cute for his own good.

"That's great, shifu! Considering that we have free time, why don't you teach me the basics to start my cultivation journey." Yu Li suggested, quite cheekily from her normal style.

"Ah? Why not! You look more beautiful when you smile." he complimented.
