CHAPTER 22: HAVING FUN

Nothing was as important as being surrounded by loved ones and enjoying life to the fullest without worry.

Fully knowing that the vacation was probably her last for the year, Darica planned on enjoying it to the fullest.

And with an additional person by her side, she felt that everything was going perfectly.

Honestly, as she stared at the young man snapping photos of her as she posed in front of one monument on Darwin's Island, Darica felt happier.

It's been only a few hours since they got together, and yet it felt as if she had been in love for ages.

The emotions that swelled within her were so overwhelming that it felt as if she had been missing out all these years for not trying to enjoy her life like that.

As for the curious students stealing peeks at her once in a while, she completely ignored them.

"Yes, pose like that."

"Dari, don't forget to stand in front of that board. We need to fully show the name, otherwise, we will be doomed!" Yuka reminded as she took her own sets of photos on the side.

Darica flashed a smile at Yuka, not forgetting to do as instructed.

Her life depended on the photos and videos that were going to be taken during the vacation.

As much as she was vacationing, she was also working. And since the wages were lucrative, Darica was a hard-working model and employee.

She got paid for just taking photos, shooting videos, and advertising certain products. Darica's life had truly been moving in the perfect direction so far, and she was loving it.

When the realization dawned on her back then, that she could earn money online by doing certain kinds of jobs; Darica who at that time had a couple hundred kids to lead, knew that she had to do something about it.

And being the student council president, Darica automatically became the face of the university and its ambassador again.

And in the past two years, Darica had earned a lot of reputation for the school and made money for herself as well. 

She had done a lot of endorsements, especially when going on trips. And the money had been well spent.

As much as hard it was for her to work all the time. She was still happy that she got to earn money and use it on what she loved the most.

"She looks hot every time she does that!"

"I am just thinking of how those fans would be screaming with joy once the photos are officially posted!"

"It's been a while since the page was uploaded. Wondering when that will be."

"I will focus on myself, guys. Who wants to take a selfie?"

Darwin's Island was a great place to be. And one of the destinations in Greatia, one shouldn't miss.

It was one of the three islands surrounding Greatia and part of the massive ocean that was filled with aqua life that was slowly diminishing due to overfishing and exploitation of seas for various reasons.

There was something about Darwin's Island and it was its long history of being a prosperous place that drove Greatia to be the great country that it is today.

Several international events were held there, and they ranged from games to summits. And recently a new amusement park has been built there. And it was one reason why Darica was there.

To advertise and promote the amusement park to others.

And with such a huge fan base that consisted of mostly the youths that literally copied whatever she does in her daily life. Darica was a perfect candidate choice for situations like that.

However, they weren't going there on the first day, for there wasn't enough time for them to go out and play. Which was why they all decided to check other places first before heading there.

The gang spent their day having fun, taking photos, and eating snacks whenever they came across something that they liked.

After a fulfilling day, everyone returned to the hotel wearing smiles on their face.

Walking side by side; Darica couldn't help but take a look at the young man who had done a great job to keep her entertained for the day with a smile on her face.

"Are you happy?" she asked as glanced at him with raised brows.

Duke, turning his head to look at the love of his life, smiled at her as he responded, "Mmm, as long as I am with you, I am always happy," without hiding his feelings for her at all.

Hearing that from his mouth, Darica couldn't help but feel butterflies in her stomach.

She locked gaze with him without shying away, for she didn't believe in acting in that manner. If she couldn't even look at her boyfriend in the eye, who else was she supposed to look at?

"I am glad that it's like that. I don't want you feeling sad," she said with a faint smile on her face before continuing. "I will be busy until the vacation is over. So, I won't have time to spend with you."

Upon hearing that, Duke reached his right hand for her left. Darica stretched her hand naturally and allowed Duke to hold her.

They have already kissed and done some intimate actions already. So, why would it be a problem for them to just hold hands?

Holding her hand in his. And despite the hand being not soft like other females with all the callouses that just proved how hard working she was daily, Duke felt like he was holding the whole world in his hands.

"You don't have to worry about me. I will just accompany you like this. When all this ends, we can still see each other."

Darica scratched his palm with her finger and smiled at him, saying, "Hmmm, thank you for understanding."

"I have always been, especially when it comes to you."

Everyone finally reached the hotel and went their separate ways to freshen up before meeting for supper in the restaurant once again.

There were only two nights and two days remaining before they returned to Avia. So, they needed to enjoy the moment as it lasted.

And everyone was looking forward to doing just that.
