Escaping

"I--i" Gina stuttered.

She was conflicted within herself ; should she lie to her??. But then what is the point of lying when the truth will eventually come out??!!

Gosh, this was a little hard but she had to do it.

She just had to say it in a calm way, like it isn't a big deal.

But how??....

How could she act like it isn't a big deal when it actually was....

Gina took a deep breath as she gazed at her friend who was patiently waiting for her to speak. She explained everything that had happened 3 days ago, starting from the unknown guest to the haunting nightmares. She watched as Katherine's face changed to surprise before settling on that of anger.

"You are not getting married to any Fucking vampire." Katherine shot angrily. Right now she wasn't angry, she was furious.

How could she tell her she was getting married when she was well aware of the fact that for a female to become a Soldier of the Royal Army she must not get married.

She Katherine won't let their dreams go to drain because of some useless vampire..Never

Gina smiled at her friend who was raging with fury. It was a bitter smile that was filled with helplessness. Although she didn't want to get married she had no choice.

When Katherine saw Gina smiling helplessly like she had already given up; She stuttered trying hard not to raise her voice "Gina, i...i don't know how this happened, but you....you can't get married".

"Kate, please...."Gina started. She needed to make sure that Katherine would understand that she was really going to get married and to a..a vampire. The wedding date had already been fixed which was in 3 days time, there was no going back anymore."I will be okay, i won't lack money once i get married" she said trying to sound cheerful but Katherine wasn't buying it.

Katherine just ignored her, standing up she walked to the window. Unlocking one of the window pane, she put her head out . Since it was still early in the morning, the street was quiet with just a few people here and there..

She walked back to Gina and held her hand before dragging her to the window.

Gina was really confused; one moment she was ignoring her and the other she pulling her towards the window. she tried to pull her hands away but Katherine's grip was firm.

Katherine stopped moving and turned to her as though wanting to say something.

Gina who saw this took it as an opportunity to speak "What are you doing?? "She asked obviously confused.

"Escaping..." Katherine paused when she saw the confused look on Gina's face.."With you, of course" she completed..

Gina's eyes slowly widened. Wh...what??? What was she saying???. Even though Gina's parents didn't really care about her, she didn't mind it. She cared for them so very much. She couldn't stand the idea of running away. No...she won't escape. Never.

She would boldly fulfill all their wishes.

She would strongly sacrifice her dreams.

She would do anything....anything to make them happy.

"Come on! Gina! Please, let's be selfish for once, let's leave here and pursue our dreams. And we shall only return when we are successful Soldiers of the Royal Army. Please." Katherine pleaded all in one breath as tears clouded her eyes because somewhere at the back of her mind she knew that Gina would not agree . But she still had a single stray of hope. She was still hoping to hear 'YES'.

"I C..Can't Kate."

and with that one sentence.....

Gina wrapped her hands tightly around Katherine as they both bursted into tears. They held onto each other as though their lives depended on it as they cried their heart out. The pain they both felt was almost unbearable.....it was much....,Why?? Why is all this happening now??..Now that they are close to achieving their dreams...Why??. They couldn't help but ask in their in minds.

After crying for good twenty minutes, their tears stopped pouring and they both lay down on the bed, hands entangled together as they listened to each others heart beat. Staring at the ceiling without uttering another word.
