Set Sail
After a long journey through darkness, he finally stopped.
He was trembling and his legs had gone soft from the ride.
He finally arrived at Austinburg Harbor.
"F*cking Vincent, Just you wait..." with his wobbly legs and pale face someone carried him to a bed for rest.
He looked around from the bed and saw the house was simple, but the underground is hiding a secret way to the kingdom border.
It seems there are lots of secret entrances everywhere in the kingdom, it might help me later when I attack them to take back the kingdom.
Sigh, I'm too tired.
He then fell asleep.
The next morning, he heard an alarm going off and it was so loud, It wakes Dave up.
"What the hell is going on?!"
Can I just sleep a bit more?!
He looked around and there he found Vincent standing near the door, he seemed like he was waiting for me.
Dave then asked him "What's the alarm for?"
"It's a pirate, they are attacking this harbor." Vincent replied.
"will we be delayed?"
"No, we can set sail anytime but..." Vincent seemed like he wanted to say but he was hesitant.
"Tell me, what's wrong?."
"This would delay the time we sail but, we want to stop the pirate, could we have permission to move?"
I don't want to waste time since they might be still finding him, because he was wanted, they might have magic to track me or something.
But after seeing Vincent's face that is burning with anger.
He can't just stop him right?
And I need to remember I'm here to redeem myself, I must not become a prick that I once used to.
I must not repeat that same mistake.
Then Dave resolutely said "Fine, Let's go hunt those pirates."
He changed his outfit into a battle outfit provided by Vincent.
He took a sword and a shield.
He was absolutely ready.
When he got out he looked around and saw the pirates murdering people on their path and stole everything the Civilian had, maybe only a merchant with a bodyguard can repel them.
The Harbor was beautiful if only there was no cannon and buildings being destroyed...
He can feel the burning gaze from all the members of the Hidden blades of Akkath.
This is truly Intimidating, would my help even be needed?
He coughed a few times then he Commanded them "Kill all the pirates, don't let them escape!"
"Yes sir!"
All of them dispersed, killing every pirate in sight.
Why did I even equip this armor and shield?
But then suddenly a cutlass appeared beside him.
He hurriedly blocked it with his shield.
then stab the pirate in his stomach, the pirate spurted blood from his mouth making Dave get some of the blood on his eyes.
He pushed the body with a shield.
he wiped the blood from his eyes
Then he realizes this was his first time killing people, he was trembling.
I just killed a person...
his breathing quickened.
What he did before was purely reflex.
he was lost in thought.
He killed a person.
but then someone shook him.
"Prince, wake up!" It was Esmeralda who shouted and then she slapped Dave.
"If you are just going to stand there like an idiot you are going to get killed! They are criminals and have done many bad deeds, I know this is the first time you kill but listen, they deserve it!"
Right, they killed so many people they needed to be judged, or they would continue for the rest of their life.
He slapped his cheek to focus himself then he replied to Esmeralda "Sorry about that, you are right."
He adjusted his breathing, and now he raised his shield and sword.
Right, I'm doing this to protect them all.
I will not stop here.
He charged to one of the pirates with his shield knocking the pirate down then used his sword to stab his throat.
Somehow I got used to it, it was a scary thought to have.
"You can kill, but don't kill mindlessly." he chanted
He doesn't want to be overcomed by bloodlust and starts to kill everything he sees and become just like those scummy pirates.
They have started their killing spree, it was a bloodbath.
the pirates unfortunately retreated.
I was just getting started...
Then he felt pain in his back, something was getting carved in his body.
He finally breakthrough into Warrior Apprentice, wasn't he needed to do those chores for a breakthrough?
Then the system explained to him "You do, But by battling you can progress much faster in life and death battle"
I see, so it's like that, but what exactly is my mark? I can't see them since it's in my back...
Oh well, I would just ask vincent.
they regrouped, then set sail as fast as possible.
With a huge blue ship that brings a lot of food and material, they can last for a long time.
The sea was peaceful and there was the sound of waves and whales passing by.
