Since alcohol, a driver and a car are not a good combination, Gustav Meiden decided to return to the palace on foot. Since a tipsy guy in a place he doesn't quite know is the ingredients for trouble, David decided to accompany him. The road was not long or complicated, but why tempt fate?
So they walked side by side like a couple on a walk. A very shy couple, as they did not hold hands.
"I'm sorry about my parents," said David referring to lunch. "They shouldn't have questioned you like that."
"No problem. I was prepared for it," replied Gustav calmly. "Besides, it was in its own way... nice."
"Nice? You've got to be kidding!"
Meiden shook his head.
"My father was never interested in what I was doing. Not like your parents. All he cared about was whether I was sticking to the plan he set out and, if not, how much damage I was doing to his name."
