"So you want to hire me to have a good lover on hand?" Janus asked with calm, passionless voice.
Oops, that question was tricky. If Linden answered it wrong, he might look like he wanted to hire a gigolo.
"I want to give us a chance, and besides, I trust your professional skills. I came to Poland because there was a real threat of an attempt on my life."
Janus concentrated, changed his position. He looked into Julius' eyes and his gaze was so piercing that Linden felt as if he would faint. If he hadn't been lying in his embrace, he probably would have collapsed.
"I'm not cheating," he confirmed. "The police arrested these people, but with my position there will always be others. I try not to worry, not to let it affect my life, but..."
"It's not fair," Janus said seriously. "You can't put your life as a bargaining chip."
"Why?" he asked feigning ignorance.
"After all, you know it's emotional blackmail."
