Something Between a Fallow Deer and a Panther
Gustav was still not sleepy. For what it's worth, Julius's situation still did not give him peace of mind.. So he went to his office and turned on his laptop. Maybe he would be able to find some information about it online.
He began his search.
He found nothing direct. Newspapers did not write about any threat against Linden, neither the serious ones nor even the tabloids. But there were a few mentions of protests against his company's new project. Julius' main line of business was fish processing. There were some protests about overfishing, and there were banners with signs like "herring has consciousness too," or showing Julius' face in a can instead of a fish.
The sight was amusing at first, then it became disturbing. It was easy to imagine that people who treat humans and fish equally might stop seeing humans as humans.
Is there really such a line blurring in people's minds?
