Phone Call From Berenice
David felt a cold sweat on his back. She called him, after what she had told him, how she had run away from him. She was calling him. What for? Certainly not to say more unkind words to him, because she was not that kind of girl.
And what kind of girl she was? After all, he did not expect to hear any ugly word from her mouth. Until now, he thought Berenice was simply not capable of uttering an insult to someone.
But she was, and his nervousness, this meeting of the four men to resolve the crisis, was proof of that.
