Being Fitz

Lysander "Fitz" Fitzgibbon used to teach at a university, but quit when his father grew ill and needed someone to take care of him. Years later, after his dad's death, Fitz has given up on his dreams, drives a bus route, and endures visits from Jerry, who can't really be called a friend, and barely a benefit. Fitz is lonely, worries about his weight, and figures life won't be getting any better.<br><br>Then, Fitz stumbles over a dead body in the park. As if life couldn't get any worse, he has a run-in with Detective Holland Simms, whose infuriating arrogance and brash behavior provokes Fitz to punch him. But strangely enough, Fitz feels more alive around Simms than he has in a long time, though he finds it hard to believe that the confident Simms would want anything to do with him. Should he take a chance on more?

Chapter 16

I grabbed his head and pulled him back up to attack his lips, open-mouthed and needy as we continued frotting, heading for the finish line, clothing and all. My hips stuttered as I shot in my underwear, groaning into his mouth even as I sucked on his tongue, causing Simms’s grip on my ass to become bruising just as he came.

Fuck, that was hot. We kissed languidly then, lips sore and coming down from our high, and I was aware of the world around us once more, though we were still in our own little bubble.

After one last kiss and nibble, he rested his head on my shoulder and I hugged him tight, not wanting to ever let go.6

Walking to my truck was an uncomfortable affair, but at least I wasn’t the only one. Simms kept his hand possessively on my butt the whole time, and I couldn’t find it in myself to complain. I liked that he wanted to proclaim that we belonged together to the world.
