Chapter Ten.. You won't fool me again

"Oh God ,what now does that liar want ?! What if he's planning on taunting me again with his lies like he did twelve years ago ?!

No Eloise ,you will have to be strong and you will have to look attractive so that he regrets dumping you !

Yes , that's what I will do! " Eloise thought for a while before reaching for her comb in her bag and combing her medium layer dark brown blonde long hair ."That's good Eloise ,now you will have to wear a professional face before entering into his office ." Eloise left her office for Jakes ' .When Jakes saw her approaching ,he put off his computer so that Eloise wouldn't get a hint that secret security cameras have been installed in her office for Jakes' own monitoring .

"Miss Jenkins ,the Chairman is inside his office .You can go in " Renata said .

"Alright "Eloise walked into Jakes ' luxurious office and she was surprised to see the paintings on the wall .

It was Eloise's painting while she picked shells from the beach of Long Beach City twelve years ago .

The other painting was that of hers and Jakes' when they were playing at the shores of the sea .If Eloise could remember clearly , Jakes' security guard took that picture of them together .

"But why is it here ? What is Jakes trying to do ? " Eloise began twisting her pendant ; something very usual of her whenever she was nervous or feeling uncomfortable.

Eloise threw her eyes to Jakes' chair and he wasn't sitting there .

"If he knows that he wouldn't be here then why did he call me here ?

To mock at me or what ? What is Jakes planning to do right now ?!

Whatever it may be ,I will not let him make a fool out of me for the second time ,never ! " Eloise sat on his sofa in the office for a while but she felt uncomfortable since the paintings of she and Jakes' childhood reminded her of her past memories that she had let gone of .

"No Eloise ,he's trying to fool you by plotting those memories into your head through these paintings .But no ,I have moved on and I will not allow him to fool me again !

I will have to leave from here now ..!"Eloise twisted the lock of the door knob and it was not opening .She shook it but it still wasn't opening ."Why can't this door open ?

What drama is this ?! " Jakes sat calmly in his lounge and watched Eloise try to open the door on his phone .She even hit her hands against the door several times to call for help but no one was coming to her aid .

"Sweety ,you won't have any aid because I have locked the door using a remote and I have switched on sound proof using the same remote that is lying peacefully by my side.

Technology has made life so interesting sweety .Forgive me ,but before I explain myself to you ,I'd like you to recall our memories !

The one that you have tried so hard to burn into ashes.

I can't let you forget those memories completely babe .I still love you even till today but I know you are trying your best to hate me .For this reason ,I need to stop you with our childhood memories .I will do anything to make you mine again ,babe !"

Eloise continued to hit her against the door but had no response ."Damn you Jakes Riddles ! I know you have done all this .At least ,man up in front of me and I will teach you what a real woman is Jakes Riddles !" Eloise 's anger knew no bounds however she kept her cool and waited for the one who was entering the office .

Jakes entered the office using his swipe card and pretended to stunned when he saw Eloise in his office .Her black fitting office skirt had brought out her curves and Jakes couldn't hold himself other than look at her .

Seeing how depressed Eloise was earlier ,he exited through the back door of his lounge and appeared innocently in front of Eloise .Once Eloise saw him ,she clenched her fist and moved forward angrily at Jakes however she mellowed in front of him and thought of the firm as a cooperate society and the one who stood in front of her ,whether she liked it or not was her boss !

"Eloise ,what brings you here ? "Jakes asked ,sarcastically .

"Miss Jenkins sir ..!"Eloise affirmed professionally .

"Miss Jenkins ,what brings you to my office ?" Jakes asked .

Jakes' sarcasm made Eloise's blood boil however ,she kept her cool .

"Sir ,your secretary informed me that you wanted to see me and that's why I'm here .

Unfortunately ,once I entered you weren't here and when I decided to go out ,the door was locked .

Sir ,I would take my leave now if there is nothing you want me to do for you .Excuse me !" Once Eloise reached the door and tried pulling the door knob ,the door was locked again ."This is what I wanted to tell you Eloise ,I mean Miss Jenkins .In order to go in and out of my office ,you need a swipe card .

Once you enter with a swipe card ,the door gets locked from behind and once you are out ,it gets locked as well from inside .This is what happened in the initial situation you complained about .It was nothing intentional Eloise .

"Miss Jenkins ,Chairman Riddles !" Eloise repeated again to his hearing . "Now if we are done here ,I want to go home now Chairman Riddles , so please open up the door with your swipe card so that I can pass through and go home now !"Eloise's silky voice was sounding a bit harsh and demanding .

"Ha! In as much as you want to keep this relationship professional Miss Jenkins ,I do to . In case you don't know I 'm a man of my word !"Jakes shocked Eloise with his statement "I'm a man of my word !".

"Ha!

A man of his word ?

He praises himself so highly too , imbecile! " Eloise laughed at it mockingly .

"I know for now ,you will laugh at it but Eloise ,all ...." He was stopped by Eloise . "Sir ,this relationship is strictly professional and so as I have said ,if you have nothing for me ,I'd like to go home . It's getting late! " .

"Okay then Miss Jenkins ,but before you leave ,I'd like to live you with these files for our next project . These are pieces that our formal designer made ."Jakes handed Eloise a pack of files .
