Chapter Four .. She's your daughter

He always felt a strong attachment to her especially because of her looks .To clear his doubts ,he asked his private detective to investigate about Suzzy's real personality .

As Jakes stood at the balcony of his study with a glass of whisky in his hand ,he heard a knock on his door ."Sir ..!" A young man walked in and handed him a pack of files .

"Susana Jenkins ? " Jakes muttered the name on the file .

"Yes sir ,the name of the lady you run into your car with is called Susana Jenkins .

Most at times ,people call her Suzzy and these files contain every information you need to know about her ." The detective assured Jakes .

Jakes placed his glass of whisky on the table and began flipping the files . He threw his eyes to her personal information first ....

'Name : Susana Jenkins '

' Age : 17 '

'Hometown : Texas ,Belton '

'Mother 's name : Eloise Jenkins '

'Marital Status : Single '

'Father's name : .....'

'Father's marital status : ...'

When he threw his eyes at the father's portion ,it was blank .

Jakes wore a sad face after he saw that .

He had asked his detective to investigate about Suzzy following his instincts about her butterfly birthmark on her neck portion and related it to the shape of her pendant that she wore when they ran into her three months ago .

Also ,the inscription 'EJ ' on her pendant and why they had the same blood type at the same moment of emergency couldn't just be a coincidence ,he thought .

When he donated the blood ,he had a chance to see her face .

He was shocked at the resemblance at first sight and so each day he went to the hospital ,he preferred looking at her from a distance .

All this added up to why he felt like he needed to know her true identity and why he felt uncertain about her identity .

For years ,it seemed as if his emotions were back into play as he stood silently and held the files in his hands , developing goose bumps all over his body still in shock .

"Sir ,Susana Jenkins is y..your daughter !The daughter you had with your late wife Eloise Jenkins !" The detective said firmly .

"Sir ,I asked some neighbours in her hometown ,Belton , and they told me that Eloise was pregnant when she came back to her neighborhood .

The same night that she left your mansion in Santa Monica City angrily ,she was bearing your child .I'm sure she concealed this fact from you because she was in pain and angry !" Jakes had still not recovered from the shock yet , so he took his seat and drunk a glass of whiskey while digesting every single piece of information that he had just received .

"Wh....where is my Eloise ? " Jakes asked .

"Sir ,I don't know whether this is the perfect time to tell you this . Honestly ,looking at your state ,I think we should discuss this issue later !" The detective suggested since Jakes' state at the moment was so unlike of him .

He had never broken like he was today .

Except for eighteen years ago ,when Eloise left and it kept him in a position of even losing himself and everything he had to alcohol .

"Mike !

I don't pay you to tell me when issues will be discussed or not ,alright ?! So tell me where my Eloise is and I will go and get her myself ..!" Jakes yelled with certainty of getting his love ,Eloise back at all cost .

"But that's not possible sir ...!" Mike said and went closer to Jakes .

"What do you mean it's not possible ,huh ?!

What can't I do ?!

I'm Jakes Riddles ..!" Jakes angrily threw the bottle of whiskey on the floor .

"Sir ,the second part of the file states clearly that Eloise Jenkins is no more !

She passed away a year ago from lymphatic cancer at the Baylor Scott and White Medical Centre ,Texas ,Belton !

Susana moved from Belton to Los Angeles after burying her mother at the North Belton Cemetery a year ago !

Sir ,all the medical reports down to her burial is all in the file !" Mike firmly said even though he knew that Jakes was in tremendous pain .

He had no choice but do as he had ordered .

"No ! no !! nooo !!! this can't be true .My Eloise can't be dead !

I know I've made mistakes but my Eloise can never leave me .I need to ask her for forgiveness and we need to stay together with our daughter !

Eloise can't just leave ....!" Jakes cried onto the shoulder of Mike for the first time in eighteen years like a baby .

"Sir ,I know the past can't be recollected but if there's one thing I know , it's the fact that you still have a beautiful daughter to take care of and make up to her for all the lost times .

This way , whatsoever mistake you made in the past ,it will be amended .

Look at how fate has brought you two together during these trying times ,sir !" Mike consoled Jakes with his soothing words .

"Tell me how long my daughter has been staying in that market and living there like a puppet ...!" Jakes asked Mike .

"Sir ,after burying her mother in Belton ,she moved to Los Angeles and since then has been residing in the Grand Central Market .

Going to the location where she met with an accident ,I have been told that she has lived in the market for about a year now .

She engages in petty trades and run errands for the market women and sometimes ,beg for food as well .

I was also told that she lives with a group of street children and three months ago ,she stole food from one of the market women which led her to being chased .

Don't worry sir ,I have settled the woman out so that she doesn't drag the case any further .

Also ,Doctor Simi gave me the samples of the DNA test they conducted on Susana Jenkins after the blood transfusion .

Sir ,in here are also pictures of Eloise and Susana that I got from one of their neighbors in Belton .

Sir ,Eloise went away to Belton expecting your child and that child is none other than Susana Jenkins ; the young lady you run your car into !"Mike concluded .
