Chapter Fifty three..I'm such a disappointment

"So sorry Dora .We have given you enough trouble already .My daughter behaved badly with you and your son today ,please forgive us ."Nicholas said apologetically .

"It's not your fault Nicholas ,it isn't .I'm so sorry because the root of all this trouble is from my son .

'sniffs ..'

I know it's hard for me to admit the truth but the truth can never change .My son's mistakes are the major reasons we are going through this trouble other than that ,I know Eloise can't even hurt a fly . She's such a sweet girl that used to even entertain me when I'm sad but today , she holds on to a gun with no traces of emotions on her face .

I don't blame her for harbouring such bitterness in her heart because when a woman loses all her emotions because of pain ,she becomes like a statue .The only thing she has is her self-respect and dignity that she wants to protect .

But as a mother ,what can I do ?

Even if my son is the reason for all this ,I can't help but protect and defend him .

What more can I do ? "Dora broke into tears .

"You know if I could ,I would have stopped this madness that has come on Eloise but I have no say in her life .She doesn't regard me at all as her father .

The only reason she addresses Stephanie and I as Papa and Mama is just because of our societal recognition .

She feels that that we care about her now because we want to use her to console ourselves for her twin's death . That's why she feels her daughter is the only one she has got .

For this reason ,she wants to do everything in her power to have her in her life again .

But I promise you that ,this will not happen again .

I will take my leave now ..."Nicholas gave Dora a hug and patted Jakes' back before leaving .

"Son .."Dora broke into tears in front of her son .Seeing this , Inno and Renata decided to give them some time alone ."Umm! ma'am Dora ,Jakes ,Inno and I will go and check on Joan and Suzzy and see to it whether they need anything ." Renata said and Dora nodded .

"Since we are no more in the office ,I can't call you boss now but remember , you've got a brother to talk too once you are calm ,alright ?

Stay put man , we'd go and check on your daughter ."Inno added and along with Renata they left the room for Dora and Jakes to talk things out .

"I'm such a disappointment .I've never done anything right .All I've brought you is disappointment and trouble and nothing else .

When dad passed away ,instead of staying back and managing the cooperation ,I went away to Australia with Meredith and left all the burden on you .

I formed no better relationship with Eloise because of my anger and pride .I let the only woman that I have loved my entire life slid away .

Today ,in her eyes ,I couldn't see that innocent little girl who approached me about three and a half decades ago to make me feel happy ,instead I saw an emotionless woman whose only priority was to end my life .

That was my fault too and now my poor daughter has been dragged into this too .

She's hurting because of my mistakes , mum.

I'm such a good for nothing jackass and a jerk .I'm such a jerk mum .I deserve to die .."Jakes hit his hands against the wall hardly .

"It's okay son , it's okay .Calm down please ,calm down .."Dora coaxed her son in her arms like a little baby and calmed him down .

Inno and Renata went downstairs and saw Joan who was asleep with Suzzy on her laps on the sofa .

Joan had been singing for her for almost an hour and she fell asleep like a newly born baby .Renata tapped Joan on her arm and she woke up with her sleepy eyes .

"Hey lovely couples of the moment ,you are here ?"Joan joked for a bit before putting Suzzy comfortably on the sofa ."Let's talk at the door ,I don't want Suzzy to wake up . She's been through alot already ."Joan said and pulled up a blanket all over Suzzy who was fast asleep .

"Hey guys ! what's on ? Where were the gunshots from ? Who was shot ? Where's Eloise ?

The sad thing here is ,I didn't prepare for a funeral .

You know my mum has some two more years to go but unfortunately I happen to bury my two best friends tomorrow .

Who will give me money now that the big boss is no more ?

You know ,I did a good job being their intermediator .

I moved from Lennox City to Beverly Hills just because of them .It just couldn't end like this ,geez ! "Joan expressed her sad emotions .

"Joan , unfortunately your funeral arrangements have been cancelled because no one was shot .

Eloise couldn't shoot Jakes but then she landed her bullets in the table and after angrily left .

Jakes is talking to ma'am Dora .You know I never expected this to happen ,I mean we three believed that Eloise was still alive .

When she arrived ,I thought everything was going to be right since she was going to put Jakes' anger in a check but I was wrong .

They are now enemies who are fighting themselves like they were never once crazy about each other and that too ,about who Suzzy should be with .

Think of what the poor girl might be going through now ,for goodness sake , she's just seventeen and she has just three months more for her eighteenth birthday .

They should consider her emotions too and Instead of fighting themselves to death ,they should be thinking of how to get back together as husband and wife at least ,for their daughter's sake ."Renata said in distress .

"I think we should do everything to join those two together .

I know Jakes messed up but come on ,we all know that he's a good man .You all have gotta help me out here ."Inno suggested .
