Once After Noon came around Thornir had gone to the Dungeon's of his Castle to start his 'interrogation' of the Assassin who tried to kill him.
By this time both of his wives including Stygard, Thorell, and Aranir had been informed of this. They didn't take it well as they all wanted to kill this Assassin immediately, but they had enough self-control to not lose themselves over something like that.
Also, now because of the Assassin every food that is cooked around the palace will now be tested for poison before it gets served. Thornir also increased the Guards around the Palace to prevent something like this from happening ever again.
Especially with his son and daughter in the Palace, if something happened to them, he would probably go on a rampage against the world.
Luckily that didn't happen.
But he will soon find out who it was that sent this Assassin.
In the dungeons of the Keep was a woman tied up and blindfolded to a wall. You could see all types of bruises on her body as when she was being carried down here the Guards weren't exactly nice and had roughed her up a little.
Then a few moments later the sound of the cell door could be heard as 3 people walked in.
One of the voices had said to untie her from the wall as she felt both of her arms being grabbed. In a few seconds she was untied but both her arms were still held.
Both of the Guards had moved her to a chair and tied her arms down and removed her blindfold. As her blindfold was removed in front of her stood the very man she was supposed to kill.
"Okaay Let's hurry and get this over with" Said Thornir as he grabbed a chair and placed it in front of the Assassin.
"First thing first I am going to ask your name, and you will tell me your name, or you won't, it's your choice" Said Thornir
The women didn't even respond and only started at him so Thornir grabbed one of the knives on from the table next to him and stabbed it into her hand.
She grunted from the pain, yet she didn't scream but Thornir could tell from her face that it was extremely painful.
"Let's try that again but this time with a different question" Said Thornir
"Who hired you or sent you to kill me" Asked Thornir
At this question the Assassin smiled as she spoke "The God of Death calls for your soul and soon have it he shall"
"The God of Death huh" Said Thornir as he found what she said to be crazy talk
"I am, but the messenger sent to deliver the gift of Death to your miserable soul and even if I fall here another shall return to take my place as I am no one" Stated the Assassin
The Assassin expected Thornir to be cowering in fear from her statement since he would his life would forever be sought after no matter what he does.
But instead the face that Thornir had was a blank expression since what she said made her sound like she was part of some weird religious cult.
He then turned to look at the Guards to make sure he wasn't just hearing things or going crazy. The Guards had the exact same expression as him so not he knew that he wasn't just hearing things.
"I see, so you are obviously part of some religion's faction of some sort, and you also called yourself No one" Said Thornir as he began to piece together the facts that were in front of him.
Using his knowledge from his previous world about the series he came to the conclusion that this woman was from the Faceless men organization located in Braavos.
And he knows that the Faceless men only carry out assassination mission's if they are paid by someone. And for them to send somebody all the way to the North then that person must be very rich.
But Thornir couldn't think of any wealthy people that he pissed off that would want him dead. At first, he thought that it might be some merchant's that used to visit his city some Months ago, but then he also remembered his little altercation with the Envoy of the iron Bank.
They are certainly the prime suspects in this situation because of their wealth, and also they might have other interests in his city, or they just don't want his city to thrive. There are many things that it could be but Thornir didn't know the answer.
But still he planned to attack the Iron Bank sooner or later and now would be the perfect time to do that.
Thornir turned to the Guards as he stood up from his chair "Tie her back up to the wall, I will execute her on a different day"
The Guards walked towards the woman and grabbed her arms. They then dragged her back towards the wall and tied her arms back up to it.
While this was happening the woman didn't speak and just closed her eyes preparing to accept her fate which has already been determined.
