"Chan!" Irvine exclaimed in horror.
Chantria lifted a hand to prevent any of her consorts from approaching.
"Are you alright?" Zevon asked.
Chantria nodded her head slowly, sucking in a deep breath.
"I will not die." Chantria said dismissively.
It was the only assurance she had, Kahlel had said her condition was not life threatening and in time, the effects of the poison would fade.
Righting her posture, Chantria stood up straight and lifted a hand to wipe the blood off her lips.
"Jai, if that is what you choose to believe, I have nothing to say then. Amir's safety is my own concern, I do need your understanding or acceptance. Just do what you have always done... whatever that is." Chantria conveyed her stance to Jai.
Without any further words, Chantria strode out of the hall. She did not feel like returning to her quarters so she took the path leading out to the back mountains.
