What's his deal?

A sudden dull ache snapped her out of her trance, she blinked trying to find her bearings. What was happening? The pain came again, May nudged her for the second time. As much as the man was the definition of gorgeous, May felt second hand embarrassment from Kareena's reaction.

"Blackrose! Focus!" Miss Quinn reprimanded in a whisper with displeasure.

"Hmm... I thought you said this was your best team?" President Walker's soft countenance turned doubtful at Miss Quinn. "This is my son's safety we're talking about."

"It is, these girls will not disappoint you, I bet my career on this. Please trust me", Miss Quinn pleaded.

President Walker deliberated in silence before reluctantly nodding away, "Fine, let's hear you out."

Miss Quinn shot a warning gaze at Kareena who bowed apologetically and politely at the President. In that position, she grimaced at the current terrifying situation. She had no time to feel embarrassed as panic only fed her mind with unending questions and anxiety.

Why was he there? How was he there? How was Yves and Claude the same person? Was Yves even his real name? Was that the kind of person he was, one who lied his way into bedding a girl?

Now that she thought about it, the different unimaginable positions he took her in and his frightening stamina, he had to be experienced. In short, she had willingly fallen victim to his ways. The panic in her eyes was soon replaced by coldness at the realization.

He better not recognize her! He shouldn't recognize her! No, he CAN'T! With her current getup and the mask she wore, she was starting to grow convinced he would not recognize her.

Who he met in Country S was a feminine, sexy, and mysterious woman, but right now, she was simply an agent and her choice of outfit was nothing close to feminine. The difference was like night and day. It shouldn't matter anyway, but she was infuriated! To think such a man would be her client!!

"Why don't we sit?" Miss Quinn suggested.

President Walker led the group to the lounge. Still, despite her current feelings, Kareena could not help but be very conscious of his strong presence. It was hard to ignore, just like the first time she met him.

President Walker settled at the head, while the rest of the sitting arrangement was pretty random with Miss Quinn and Yves or in this case, Claude, sitting to the President's immediate left and right. The girls occupied the rest of the seats facing each other.

She gladly had settled on a seat further and opposite from him. Her mind had made a strong resolve against him yet her eyes could not help betray her.

They run from his shoe clad foot that dangled from his annoyingly long crossed legs, slacks and shirt that didn't make him look any less sexy, one hand resting on his lap and the other on the armrest, his chiseled jawline, lips that she experienced first hand the most sinful things they cou-

'Focus!' she mentally scolded herself, snapping herself out of the derailed thoughts, her gaze no longer wandering in his direction.

"Designer", President Walker started. Cassie, who somehow ended up taking the seat next to Claude sat up straight and smiled hearing her alias. President Walker called out Kendra who was also 'coincidentally' seated next to her. "Artisan." Then he turned to the other girls. "Flame, Hunter, and Blackrose. Interesting names."

"Well, yes.... Like I said before, this is the best team. They usually handle cases involving high profile criminals", she leaned in closer than she already was as her seat was closer to his to whisper. "They even help to keep world peace."

"Really?" President Walker hummed as he looked at the group. "Then they should be in the military instead, don't do you think?"

Kareena tried not to cringe at Miss Quinn who burst out laughing. What was so funny? Seriously! She was like sn uncontrollable teenager in front of their crush.

"Tom, you and your jokes", Miss Quinn sighed, calming down from her laugh.

Kareena's brows rose behind her mask. First name basis, was this it? Why they took on this case? Kareena had just found a second reason that fueled her irritation.

"But really", Miss Quinn continued more seriously. "I can assure you, you will get a satisfactory answer before you know it."

President Walker gave a nod. "Miss Blackrose?"

"Yes, sir?" She answered.

President Walker was taken by her soft voice. It was as soothing as the serenity that comes from watching a beautiful sunset and clear like running water on a river bed. But why was she out of it early on?

"I understand you'll have to assume the role of Claude's bodyguards while solving this case. Is there anything you'll need?"

"Yes, there's a need to make known to the rest of security about the new recruit assigned to your son. We need to be added to the system as well to prevent any future altercations that could delay us from coming in on time."

"Did someone give you a hard time?" A deep magnetic cello like voice was suddenly heard throwing everyone into silence.

Everyone turned to the source of the voice. That was the first time the man had spoken. His voice was as attractive as she remembered as his gaze trapped hers in his once more. There was a hint of irritation in his tone, as though he was personally offended. But the hostility did not reflect in his eyes as he bore into hers for answers. What's his deal?

Her honest eyes said one thing while her mouth uttered a flat, "No."
