Naked and alone

Thick black brows drew together furrowing, sensing the bright light illuminating the room. The person softly blew out a breath and turned on their side only for their eyes to peel open.

Empty. Nothing but wrinkled sheets came into their view. He turned to look over his shoulder only to find nothing. Yves found himself in a queen-size bed, naked and alone.

He sat up and run his fingers through his hair, his face doing a poor job masking his disappointment. She was gone.....

If not for the red patch on the white sheets, he would have thought the previous night was just a dream. He looked around for his clothes only to find them neatly laid on a chair. The corners of his lips curved up...

He walked over and fished for his phone from his trouser pocket. He dialed a number and it was answered on the first ring. "Yes, sir."

"Look into the person who booked the room I slept in. Room 1403", he ordered and hang up.

He threw the phone on the bed and disappeared into the shower. Moments later, he came out with damp hair and a towel wrapped around his waist. He discarded it and started to dress up when a knock was heard.

"Sir, it's me Kent", a man's voice resounded from the other side.

"Come in", Yves leisurely looped and fastened his belt around his trouser.

A man in a suit, a head shorter than Yves, walked in. He was about to speak when his mouth fell open at the site of glaring red scratch marks on his boss' huge arms and back.

"Shall I call a doctor for you sir?" He asked worried. He looked like he had just walked out of a battle, no, too extreme. More of a cat fight.

"What for?" Yves picked up his torn shirt. Amusement shone in his eyes seeing its state and reminiscing to why it was like that in the first place.

"You've sustained some injuries, sir and shall I get you a new set of clothes?"

"Did you come here to nag me?" He shot him a glare, displeased with his words before he threw on the shirt and buttoned up.

Nagging? Kent was only looking out for his boss but even that was a sin! He decided to drop it and report why he came through.

"I came to report on what you asked to find", he cleared his throat before continuing. Yves brows slightly rose, he had come back quicker than anticipated. It must be good news..... So he hoped. "The room was booked under your name. Your first name to be precise."

"What?" Yves' movements halted. That can't be. He started to jog his memory. Did he not hear her use her name when booking the room? His brows furrowed.

"Yes, sir. And I asked for the security footage in case you'll ask for it..."

"And?" He asked impatiently.

"They said the cameras are working just fine but the footage from last night till this morning mysteriously disappeared. They're working on recovering it although... although it seems impossible."

Yves slowly sunk himself onto the edge of the bed and fell into thought. His mind drifted back to when he conversed with Kareena at the bar. She could only give him her name and nothing more. She said it was better if he knew nothing about her. Wait, the bar!!

"Even from the bar?" He concluded they would need the footage as evidence for the detained man. It can't be gone too.

"Gone too. But they said not to worry, the bar manager would testify in case it is requested."

This could not be a coincidence. She had practically erased any proof of her being in this hotel and with him. Except for her blood that was proof of her virginity and the scratches on his body.

But why would she go as far? Her mysterious nature only triggered his curiosity. How could she come into his life, wreak such sweet havoc, and disappear without a trace? Even in the shower, he had to take care of an urgent 'problem' that arose when his thoughts drifted to her luscious body and how her walls squee-

He forced a light cough, stood to pick up his jacket and threw it on as he gave another order. "We have to make a trip to Country A soon. Look for a woman. Kareena."

"... That's it?"

"If I knew any more than that, would I bother asking you to look for her?" He snapped.

"I'm sorry, sir." Kent sighed. Yves was really bent on making his life miserable. How would he even go about this without a last name or picture? He sighed again when he remembered something. "Sir, about the gentleman detained last night, how long till he's in jail?"

"How long till we leave for Country F?" He was now putting on his tie.

"Six days."

His silence and gaze was practically telling him, 'you have your answer'. Kent nodded in understanding. But he had to give it to his boss. Country S was not his home but even so, he was influential enough to have an offender locked up as long as he wanted.

Yves picked up his phone ready to leave. He stopped and gave the bed one wistful look. He could still smell her scent on those sheets, feel traces of her soft body on his fingers, and her breathtaking smile that she had given him at the bar still vivid in his mind... That was the only time she smiled, the rest of the time, she was busy moaning his name.....

Cough.

"Are you sure you don't need a doctor, sir?" Kent voiced his concern hearing the second cough only to receive a glare that shut him up.

Sigh. He didn't believe in nonsensical things such as fate but he really hoped he would see her again. He could not help but wonder, where on Earth could this woman be?
