They continued for quite some time and eventually emerged from the dense forest, revealing a steep cliff ahead.

Below the cliff lay a dense green forest.

"The cave is on the cliff, so it seems I'll need to descend using a rope," Xiaoyixian muttered as she took out a coil of rope and began securing it to a giant tree.

"If you want to think that, go ahead," Lu Yunxiao replied with a smile, avoiding giving a direct answer. Delving into details would only lead to more questions.

"What's your connection with Mu Li?" Xiaoyixian asked cautiously.

"I have no connection with him. I just happened to overhear something," Lu Yunxiao replied casually.

"I can tie her up, but someone bought her off," he continued.

"Who?" Xiaoyixian asked.

"Who's protecting you this time?" Lu Yunxiao replied with a question.

"The Wolfhead Mercenary Group," Xiaoyixian answered.

"Do you mean... Mu Li?" she then asked.

Xiaoyixian quickly connected the dots. "Muli!" she spat out with a grimace. How could he harm someone close to her?

"How did you find out? Did you get the information from Mulina?" she asked again.

"If you want to believe that, go ahead," Lu Yunxiao replied with a smile, avoiding a direct answer. Delving into details wouldn't be productive.

"Then why are you here?" Xiaoyixian asked.

"I have my reasons. Besides, I'm sure you don't want to face the Wolfhead Mercenary Group alone, do you? If I weren't here, how would you deal with them and secure the treasures in the cave?" Lu Yunxiao asked with a teasing smile.

"Who knows if what you're saying is true or false? Are you trying to deceive me?" Xiaoyixian said, her tone still cautious.

"Is it really that hard to believe me?" Lu Yunxiao chuckled. "And don't forget, I found the treasure cave, so why would I share it with you?"

"Letting you follow me, letting you deceive me, I should have just poisoned you," Xiaoyixian muttered angrily.

"Now you'll know how capable I am," she declared with a huff, her pretty face showing a hint of annoyance.

Xiaoyixian's words had barely left her mouth when a voice suddenly sounded in her ear. In the next moment, a powerful force swept in, and she found herself held firmly in Lu Yunxiao's arms.

"Why didn't you fall?" Xiaoyixian asked, astonishment in her eyes.

"Just because you tried to poison me with such a mild toxin? That's underestimating me, little doctor fairy. You might think I'm lying, but let me assure you, I prefer to tell the truth, especially to a beautiful girl like you," Lu Yunxiao said with a smile.

"Hmph, I don't believe you," Xiaoyixian pouted.

"You will," Lu Yunxiao replied, then, without further ado, he held Xiaoyixian tightly and leaped off the cliff.

"Ah! The rope! You didn't take the rope!" Xiaoyixian exclaimed in horror.
