This wasn't supposed to happen. Emily hid under her victim's bed while listening to the elf vampire that turned her scream. Her connection made her want to leave the safety of the tent to try and save him, but she knew better. Anything that could make him scream like that would destroy her without any issue. When Dusk turned her, he ensured she would never be his match.

Her blood was weak, and she was only good at hypnosis. She wouldn't dare take on 10 soldiers head-on, especially since her master was about to die.

A large hand gripped the underside of the bed, and she shrank in on herself. Emily focused on her hypnosis and activated the preprogrammed attack on the elf on the bed. It was over before she could even think of a way to escape.

Something sharp ripped through her back, and she screamed.

Two vampires down, and he had no idea how many more. Vincent smelled smoke and charged out of the tint to see one ablaze. With the way the tents were organized, the fire shouldn't jump. An elf ran out with two child vampires biting him on the neck and side. The barbarian threw his ax, hitting one, then picked up a spear at his foot and impaled the other.

"What did the elf turn a whole family?" Vincent asked.

He stared down at the female lesser vampire; she was cute, like a lost puppy covered in flees. A part of him had the idea of turning her into an assassin. The barbarian's eyes widened with an idea.

"Can cards be fused?" Vincent asked.

"Yes, especially if they are compatible." Message said.

The girl shivered in his arms. She couldn't be much older than 16, but she was shaking like a leaf. Vincent wouldn't call her main waifu material, but she might be useful as a tool. He thought about having her swear an oath, which was only useful when enforced. While she looked terrified, that could change if she was stronger. He would have to try and make her loyal before any upgrading unless the cards enforced loyalty.

"Sorry, the interrogation will have to wait." Vincent waved a companion card over her. She vanished into the card with no resistance. She appeared on his card, and he took his monster card containing the noble blood from the bear familiar. The cards blanked out, and they both read Fusion. "Not yet; let's wait until you become more loyal," Vincent said.

Vincent pulled his bow free and felt it fill with a deadly purpose. If he killed vampires with it, his bow would gain more power when fighting vampires. He knocked an arrow and jumped, firing three times before landing on the other side of camp.

When he jumped, it almost felt like he could fly.

Someone was behind the attack; he could feel them on the edge of his presence. Whatever it was, the monster was smart enough to recognize the effects of his presence and hide. Vincent didn't know what to do about that. It was dark, and his presence at its max was only around 100ft in every direction. The camp began calming down while Hector organized the men.

Vincent searched through the store with the filter for undead. For 10,000 stylish points, he could buy a single holy arrow. It was nearly half his money, not something Vincent felt like wasting it on. The monster would have the advantage if he fought like a knight or fighter. Vincent had the best chance of killing the spy or assassin; barbarians were known for their fast-moving snipers, so quick some nations thought there were more of them by at least 10 times.

The barbarian limbered up because he had no idea what kind of enemy he would face, but he had range and detection. The monster could feel it when he detected it, but it took a few precious seconds to hide. Unless, of course, the monster was baiting him.

Vincent thought about it and decided to play it safe.
