“You are not going anywhere until you eat something.” The Magistrix pointed to the still steaming bowls. “One of those is for you, they both have a healthy dose of magic in them to get you back to where you ought to be.”
“Thank you, Magistrix.” Ardala pulled the table towards her and turned her head towards Vajra and smiled. “It is so good to hear your voice.”
“I didn’t think I’d-“ He stopped his words, she didn’t need to hear how he thought his words were his deathbed confession. “I made a mess on the floor, didn’t I?”
“The blood has been cleaned away.” Ardala’s eyes settled on her food again as the other healer stepped to Vajra’s side to spoon what turned out to be some sort of rice porridge into his mouth. “You saved all of Faerie, my father wishes to reward you when you are able to return to public appearances.”
“He doesn’t need-“
Ardala looked up from her bowl again. “He does, your heroism will be rewarded.”
