“Let’s start there, what do you mean by that? Does it have anything to do with the fact that I can’t seem to stop thinking about you?” Vajra sat and walked over to her, plopping on the bed next to her. “I need to be close to you, I- “

She jerked a little, like she’d been shocked. “Yes, that is the bond, though it cannot force any feelings that do not exist within you in some capacity.” The thing in the back of his mind flared, silver-gold and the other thing that existed twisted within him. She gave him a sharp look and sniffed the air before opening her mouth. “There is something else within you, but I cannot track it. What other questions do you have? I must away before the sun goes down.”

“You can’t go,” he said reaching to hold her hand. “You have to stay with me, please?”

Ardala slipped her hand out of his gently. “That is the bond waiting to connect, nothing more.”

“So, you feel it too?” He stopped himself from reaching for her again. “The bond isn’t connected?”
