Chapter 19

Ersel did his best to listen as closely as he could to the conversation among Lino and the latter’s friends. He tried to find any valuable information that would lead him to determining Lino’s true identity. Unfortunately, he could not hear anything useful yet since Lino and his friends were talking mostly about schoolwork stuff. Then a while later, Ersel finally heard something useful.

“Say, Lino, we’re joining the varsity basketball team, right?” Kevin asked in eagerness.

Lino nodded and, while grinning, replied, “Yes, man.”

“Oh, that’s nice!” Xavier commented in a jolly tone.

[That’s it!] Ersel thought while still listening to the conversation of Lino and the latter’s friends. [I remember Van mentioning to me on the day we first met that he also engages in basketball as one of his sports. Then if he would be fine with it, I’ll ask him to join the varsity basketball team to keep an eye on Lino!]
