Chapter 2

"What! What did you say?" Lord Yu yelled enrage by his words.

"You heard me… Or do you have only brawn, but no brain... It?" the boy replied taunting lord Yu. "What!"

"How dare you!" Lord Yu yelled enraged jamming his teeth, as an intensive amount of negative energy was pouring out from his body, forcing all around him to their knees.

The remnant of lord Yu's party didn't pay much attention to the insults their appeared foe had dished out to their lord, nor were they concerned about the intimidation of their lord's energy. Even as it was forcing them to their knees, while inflicting a significant mass of pain.

They were more concerned about why they were unable to sense his present. Even as he was walking towards them. All they felt was a cold chill of death, as he was taking each step towards them, it was more horrifying than their lord intimidation and temper.

Although they were not sure if he was the one that shot the dark balls that trimmed their ranks to half of what it was. Since they couldn't sense his energy, nor could they sense the energy or present of anyone around, but that was the least of their concern as they were horrified by his present for reasons they could not fathom themselves.

"What… What the hell is this weird sensation…? And chills?"

"It's like death"

"But is that coming from him?" They whispered horrified by his present, as he was walking towards them. His body structure and face was not yet seen. Even on a bright night like this, due to a cloud that seemed to be covering the moon at the point in time, as he walked towards them.

All they saw was a shadow like figure, walking towards them, as his voice was giving off a unique sense of confidence when he spoke.

The shadow like figure didn't look like one of their kind, nor did it have any spiritual present. It seemed normal, like that of a human teen, one of probably 13 or 15+ of age, and seemed to be placing both hands in his pockets, with no care in the world as he walked towards them, It was as if, he thought handling them would be a walk in the park; too easy to even get worked up about, the thought of such made them doubt he would be anything but a human.

Infuriated by the thought and possibility of the person walking towards them, looking down on him, the only thing lord Yu was able to denote from the shadow figure heading their way was arrogance; that blocked all else. He placed no concern to his previous display of power or absent of present.

"It seems you have a sharp tongue, with a bonus of arrogance and overconfidence…"

"However just to be clear, I don't care about what you did to my so-called teammate, nor do I have the interest to avenge them…"

"I would have killed them myself at some point, so, thanks for doing me the favor…"

"But for interrupting my fun and your insolence, the only fair punishment is death…"

"I just hope your strength is what sharpen your tongue, and the foundation of that confidence, or else you will die from excruciating pain, right here, and now" lord Yu yelled relaying his thoughts, while standing upright, as his voice was getting louder. Taking a step away from the unconscious girl. He looked forward to seeing the person that interrupted his play time.

"I guess we'll see then… It" the boy replied, as he walked towards the monsters, with no sense of fear as to what might happen, nor did he show any concern to the infuriated monster's words. Instead he was rather focused on the girl lying on the ground covered in blood. He could sense that she was still alive. Although her energy was faint, he was glad she still has some, since he knew he could still save her, and that made him glad.

Upon getting closer, some of the rays of the moon was shining on him, as the cloud blocking the moon rays had shift. Making him less of a shadow figure, while the remnant of lord Yu's party found the current development, even more disturbing. Believing the moon lending him, its light was a bad omen, which made them antsy to see the person, who seemed to be the source of their loss and agitation, while horrified, as the chills they felt got worse.

Their eyes were fixed to his location while on their knees, as lord Yu was pouring out even more malicious energy, as he too could feel the chills of death the boy's present had, but refused to accept the fact of someone making him the prey.

Momentarily, they were able to gain a clear view of the boy, as the moon rays seemed to be blocked no more, bringing to light his sliver-like gray hair, light brown skin. Black and red stripe top-hood as that of his black shorts. All lord Yu caught sight of was his youth, which was disappointing to him, to see the person that made him felt fear was a human teen. Infuriated by the sight before him. In an instance he rushed wanting to end the boy's life.

"You're just a human…?"

"A Human! A little human brat!"

"I'll kill you! I'll kill you!" lord Yu yelled, while rushing in high speed to the boy with murderous intent, but to his surprise, before he could even get his steps in. He felt the chills getting stronger, as he head towards the boy, he ignored it, letting his rage consume him. Pushing him forward to the boy.

"His just a brat, nothing more…" Lord Yu thought convincing himself, while ignoring his senses as he pressed on for the attack.

In an instant a wave of dark flames was released, splitting him in two. Burning up his remains, before he could reach the boy.

"What just happened?" the other monsters said in shock, as to what had happened. Since they didn't see the change of event or what really happened. The event unfold way too fast for their eyes to keep up with. All they saw was their lord moving from his location, in an instant to attack the boy, but then bounced off to the ground, while in half, burnt whole. He didn't even have time to scream, or feel the pain. It was an instant death, a bit too peaceful for someone like him, but it was terrifying to witness.

"How disappointing…"

"I was really hoping he could put up a fight… but disappointing as always"

"Hmm… they talk big but don't always deliver… I guess I should wrap things up either way" the boy said displeased, while walking pass lord Yu's remains as it turn to ash.

Upon witnessing what had happened the others quaked in fear. They couldn't speak or move, as their eyes laid claim to what they feared. The boy being death itself, while acknowledging the fact that he was the one that launched the dark balls earlier, but the thought of their lord whom they considered to be the strongest among the lords, killed by a boy who doesn't seem to be putting any effort in his attack, whatsoever, was too much for them to fathom or accept.

What they witness killed what was left of their drive. Knowing fully well that trying to attack was pointless. Since it was obvious the power gap between them was that of a droplet to a sea, planning to attack seemed to be suicide, and there was nowhere to run too since there was a possibility of him launching the dark balls again, with that, death seemed to be the only fate that awaits them, so they thought.

"He doesn't seem to be a hunter, so, how-how can he be this strong…"

"I don't believe this, I can't accept it… I-I can't die here either…" A fat monster expressed in agitation.

The other monsters didn't utter a word, since they believed it was pointless. Although they understood where he was coming from, but were more concerned on what to do in order to survive, than mumbling. The monster continued, clinching his fist saying.

"I don't care what the demon king general orders are"

"Am not dying for his course…"

"I just have to survive!" the monster strengthens his body, gathering his energy, as he holds his belly, preparing for an attack. At least, so it seemed.

"Interesting" the boy with gray hair looked, sensing the gathering of energy, after hearing the monster's statement.

"You idiot… Have fear made you mad…"

"You can't just disclose info like that, and besides attacking is suicide…"

"You won't even get close" some monsters yelled, trying to inform him of the situation they were in. He ignored them, releasing his energy.

"Am not going to let myself die here…"

"When there are so many things I haven't done yet…"

"It's all that bastard fault, he and his stupid blood-lust" he thought to himself, as he released his energy.

"Dark fog heavy fall!" A pitch dark fog, poured out from the monster's body, which covered the whole field, as it intensify the gravity force within it. Blocking all view of the surrounding area within the fog, as the darkness intensified the gravitational force within it.

The gravity manipulation within the fog didn't affect the other demons, since they were of same power level, and their demonic eyes made the sight of things unchanging. It was like the dark fog was never in play for them. Although they were still unable to sense the boy's energy, but with the aid of their demonic eyes, they could see him, as he had made a brief pause, few lengths to the midfield of the football field.

Believing he was unable to move, due to the dark fog effect, since they believed he was human after all, with terrifying strength, but human nonetheless. A light of hope and delusion sparked in them, some more than others.

Thinking the boy had lost his sight in the fog, and the gravity intensification had made him immobile. Some thought it was their chance to strike and end the torment they felt, since dodging an attack from them now, would be next to impossible, and if they combine their strength to launch a distance combo attack, with all their might, that might actually be enough to defeat the boy, if not kill him.

While the others were surprised by the sight before them, not sure of what to do, or think, since they knew how strong their lord was, and saw how easily he took him down, they doubt the fog could immobilize him for long, with that in mind they eliminated all thought of engaging the boy.

The fat monster was glad about the change of event, especially after witnessing the effect of the dark fog on the boy. Thinking there was a shift of power, the thought of engaging the boy crossed his mind, but considering his chances of surviving, made him think otherwise.

The monsters, who thought it wise to engage the boy was about to relay their thoughts to the others and their gratitude to the fat monster, but to their surprise they saw the fat monster turning tails. Running away with no sense of direction. He ran like a compass that its only pointer was reading 'away from immediate death'.

Disappointed by his escape act, they got distracted for a moment, and a few others joined him.

"What the hell? Come back here, can't you see this is our only chance to strike!"

"Leave them be… yelling will only give away our plan and location… let's just do it, and be done with it… before he notice us" the monsters that wish to engage the boy discussed, trying to call the others fleeing back, but later chose to ignored them. Instead, they prep for their attack, with belief that their combined strength, and the dark fog was all they needed to win this fight, they concluded that the fight was in the bag.

The boy on the other hand was not affected by the dark fog, he paused only to observe the effect of the dark fog, as he was curious as to what they hoped to achieve by using such childish art.

He was never blinded by the fog, since he could see through it, and was using his senses to keep track of their energy, which aid in predicting their movements, among other things. And the intensified gravity force manipulation with in the fog was nothing short of a gentle breeze, since he had experienced far worse gravity manipulation.

He checked their flow of energy to know the status of things, thinking the dark fog was probably a smokescreen for their actual attack, while amused by the thought of such, but was disappointed, when he sensed some of the monsters heading towards the woods. Although he was not surprised by the act, facing him was a bit on the hopeless side of things, especially when they were all weaklings.
