The young man took Adiria to her quarters and she scoffed when she saw how nice the room was and she was surprised she was even given one like that, despite her status and that's when she realized that lady Anyel didn't care about such things and she can treat all those who works for her the way she wanted to.
The young man placed her things down in her room and she smiled before thanking him then he bowed his head, before leaving the room, closing the door behind him and she sat down on the soft bed then exhaled deeply.
'Am I sick?' She wondered as she felt a heat coming off of her skin and she laid back, with a few thoughts storming through her mind.
'I heard a voice in my head earlier, I wonder what that was, has everything that has happened to so far, started affecting my mental health?' She wondered.
Just then, the girl closed her eyes and she began falling asleep, when she heard someone knocking on her door and she opened it and saw a woman standing in front of her.
"Hello, I am one of the head servers, this afternoon we will be holding a meeting with the emperor's advisor, please do attend it, since you are new here it might help you understand a bit more," She said and Adiria smiled at her.
"Thank you for telling me, I will make sure to attend it..." She replied as she held onto her head and the woman placed her hand on her forehead and flinched.
"What's wrong with you? Are you having a fever? Do you need to see the doctor?" She asked in a panicked tone and Adiria smiled at her.
"There is no need for all of that, don't worry about it too much, I will be fine in a few hours, thanks again," She responded and the woman nodded, before leaving with a sigh, still a little worried about the girl.
After the woman left, Adiria decided to take a look around the palace, to get familiar with the place, since that was where she would be working from now on.
Just then, she heard a scream and her eyes widened as she rushed off and saw that the lady she was working for, child was about to fall of the second floor of the building and she gasped.
"Kid, wait, don't let go," She said as some of the other maids rushed outside and the girl noticed a shadow not far from the child, beside a wall and she knew someone was there.
'Why? Why is that person not helping.... Don't tell me," She said as the guards were rushing their way and the lady came out in a panic as she saw her child in danger.
Just then the girl climbed up from the outside and when the child's grip was released from the rail, they gasped and she jumpd, wrapping her arm around him and instead of him, she fell straight to the ground, hitting her arm, along with her back and her head.
"Adiira!" Lady Anyel called out as she rushed over to them and the girl raised up, looking at Adiira and she gritted her teeth.
"Are you okay?" She asked with a smile and he hugged her as tars streamed down his cheeks and his mother left staring at them and she smiled.
"You are fine, go to your mom," She said and he got off of her, then rushed to his mother and she hugged him tightly.
"Adiria, don't move, you are hurt, aren't you?" She asked as she looked at her, while hugging her son.
"I will be fine, don't worry about it," She responded as she got up and glanced at the second floor with her eyes narrowed.
'Someone is trying to kill this kid, how despicable can someone be to do that, what am I getting myself into here? I can't get too caught up, I have my goals as well but the kid...' She thought before lowering her gaze and holding onto her shoulder.
"I will take your leave, keep an eye on him, certain things don't always happen by accident," She said as the guy who was looking at her earlier, stood there with his gaze fixed on her.
"Blood?" She mumbled as she looked at er sleeve then lifted it up andsaw her arm was bruised.
She sighed as lady Anyel went after her, following the girl and Adiira came to a halt then turned around and the woman stopped in her tracks.
"What are you doing?" Adiria asked.
"Are you okay? It's only your first day here and this already, because of us, are you going to quit?" She asked.
"No, don't worry about me quitting, that's never going to happen, after all, even I have goals to reach in my life, I am not going to let anyone take that from me, keep an eye on your son, you are a lady of the emperor after all, I will be just fine with a bit of ointment," She responded and Anyel lowered her gaze.
Adiria sighed then walked away, going to her room to take care of her wounds, for she did hit herself hard on the ground but didn't want to worry the lady and decided to take care of herself.
The girl sat down on her bed and began taking care of her wounds, wrapping the arm that was filled with scratches in bandages and covered it with her clothes.
When she was finished, she stretched off then rubbed the herbal ointment she made with her own two hands, something her uncle taught her and applied it on her body.
A little while after, one of the servers came to call her for the meeting and she sighed then left the room with her, heading to the meeting area, where she would finally be able to meet one of the meperor's right hand.
The girl was determined to fulfill her goals but at the same time, she wanted to find out what was going on with her body and she also wanted to help the kid and decided to find out what was going on for none of it seemed coincidental or even normal.
