Adiria released her father and he looked at her, with a bright smile on his face, for he was surprised at how big his daughter had gotten and the fact that he was not there for her, half of the time, that she was growing, made him feel terrible and just then, the girl's eyes widened as she stared at him.
She was very happy that he was home and couldn't wait to spend more time with him, but felt as though something was going on with him and wondered what it was, her eyes fixed on the cloak.
"Father..." She mumbled as she looked at the cloak that was covering his body and he chuckled.
"It's nothing," He said and her brows furrowed as she got closer to him and he began stepping back.
"Hey, is it's nothing, why are you stepping away from me?" She asked as the others exchanged glances.
"Relax, let's just have a nice dinner now that I am back, I just need to relax," He responded and her eye narrowed.
'What did you guys do to my father while he was away?' She wondered as she grabbed onto his cloak and his brows furrowed, when he felt how strong her grip had gotten.
The girl ripped the cloak off of her father and her eyes widened as she felt a little weak in her knees, for she was shocked to see that her father had lost his left arm and the others gasped.
"I will kill them..." She said with pure anger in her eyes and he left staring at her, for she was not like that when he left her.
"Adiria," He mumbled then grabbed her by her arm, pulling her closer to him and hugging her, tightly.
"It's okay, I lost it in a fight, these sorts of things have to be expected, especially if you are constantly fighting and you are on the battle field almost all of the time," He said as her brows furrowed.
"This is not your fight nor anyone of those men that they took from here, did they really have a choice, father?" She asked and he left staring at her.
"Who needs royals like that?" She asked as she walked away and he lowered his gaze.
"Adiria!" Maria called out as she stormed out of the house, with her fists clenched and her father exhaled deeply, then sat down on the couch.
"Guys, what happened while I was away? Is there something that you guys kept from me?" He asked as he looked at them and Maria lowered her gaze.
As he questioned them, the girl went into the woods nearby and she sat down on a hill, which gave her a perfect view of the place they were living in and she lowered her gaze as tears came to her eyes.
'I am not wrong, they are just using people as they please, I am not stupid, all they care about is power and believes that money can compensate for a life, they look down on some of the poor,' She thought as a spark of flame, reflected in her eyes.
"She experienced a few setbacks at the academy because of a few nobles, she can't fight but, she used her mouth to destroy him and her attitude," Marai said, wanting to laugh and the others glanced at her and the girl's father's eyes narrowed and she coughed, trying to control herself.
"So, she was bullied? Does she hate them?" He asked.
"Your daughter is strong willed, she will never let anyone out her down, no she doesn't hate them, but I can't say for other things, it's not like we know everything that's going on in that mind of her, but she has changed," Maria responded and he sighed.
"Well, I was expecting changes, but not this much," He mumbled before sighing.
Adiria looked up at the stars as she thought of her mother, wondering more about loss and what her life may turn into, she hoped that things could get better, sooner than later, she just wanted to be happy with her family and loved ones.
The young lady layed back on the soft grass, while staring at the sky and since she was tired, after a long day at the academy, she began feeling a little sleepy, as the cold breeze brushed against her body.
She began closing her eyes and after a few minutes, she fell asleep by the hill and at the same time, her father had finished talking to the others about his daughter and decided to go and find her, since he wanted to have a chat.
"I am going to find here, where does she usually go?" He asked as he looked around and his brows furrowed then he chuckled.
"Never mind, I will find her, you guys just get out dinner and take out the few snacks that I brought back, for all of you, I will part it later," He added and they bowed their heads to him, then he took off to find Adiria.
"Maria, do you think everything will be okay with those two?" Another man that was working with them, asked and Marai exhaled deeply, before lowering her gaze a little.
"I don't really know, they will have to figure it out, that father daughter duo, really loves each other, I believe that they will be able to handle anything that comes to them," She responded.
The others smiled at her then they began doing what their master told them to, before leaving to find his daughter.
'Why do I have such weird dreams? Why sometimes it's all about people dying? Is my life going to be ominous?' She wondered, as she slept and she began thinking about all of it.
A while after, as she slept, something was looking at her, from within the darkness of the woods and with each second that passed by, it was getting closer, as if it was eyeing its next pray.
At the same time, her father was heading her way in a hurry, since he knew that the woods could be dangerous at times and that day was one of them.
Suddenly, he heard a growl, coming from up ahead and his eyes widened, since he knew she was at the hill.
Upon hearing the growl, the girl's eyes opened immediately and she sat up then turned around, when she saw a pair of piercing blue eyes, looking at her.
"Hey, what is it? I have no intention of becoming anybody else's dinner, I haven't even had my own as yet, I am not fat enough to satisfy..." She mumbled as a big creature came out from the woods, approaching her.
'This is not good,' She thought as she stared at the creature, with a slightly nervous look on her face.
