Avatar The Last Airbender: Cold Paths

"Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them."—William Shakespeare. This story is about the latter. A man with no recollection of his name, finds himself in the world of Avatar. Forcing to accept the idea that the show he once watched as a kid is not, in fact, fictional has taken a massive toll on him, torn as he is between the awesomeness of his new found powers as well as it's absurdity of how everything came to be, he will do what humans do best, he will overcome and adapt and greatness will follow. to read chapters ahead go to www.patreón.com/cornbringer.

——————————————————————————————-

After convincing Sakura and her family to leave, I went to the prison where they had Iroh to find that he had already escaped, which meant that Zuko was about to betray his father, I am never going to understand why didn't Zuko kill him during the eclipse… he had the chance, his reason not to do so was stupid beyond comprehension, if you have a shot at Hitler you take it, you can't walk away saying, 'It's not my destiny…' then again, I am also letting him live, but at least I am sure I will kill him, it has never been a matter of if, but of when.

"Chesire," I said, looking to the fire nation from above the skies with a dry look, "Take them to the northern water tribe," with that said I jumped out of Chesire's back, in a surge of impulsiveness, did I have a plan? No, did I want to do something specifically? No, but something told me, I had to go alone in this part of my journey.

"NO! MY RIVAL!" Ursoc screamed as he saw me descend to the ground full speed.

I chuckled at that and focused on slowing my landing with water bending, "I'll be fine!" I shouted back.

Once I found myself on the ground I decided once again on an impulse to go to the castle, I wanted to leave Ozai with a friendly warning, that Aang was not the one who was going to kill him, it was me, I was going to rip him apart, tearing him out of my sight forever, but not today, if I did it today I would put the country on a political mess, no… I had to wait for Zuko to realize dear old dadda was bad, which considering Iroh escaped it must be anytime soon.

I chuckled at my thoughts and shook my head off in amusement before I blasted off to the castle, knocking every soldier in my way, not because they were trying to stop me, but… because I could, and it would set a nice tone to the threat I was making myself to be to Ozai.

"Ozai!!" I shouted, kicking the doors to the throne room open with earthbending in an explosion of dust and dirt, "sorry for interrupting your meeting, but I really don't care," Ozai glared at me, anger being his most prominent emotion, so much it was almost leaking out of his body, creating an almost red looking glow around him… wait, I am not seeing things, Ozai is actually glowing red…. It doesn't matter, ill figure that out later.

"You will kneel… and accept your execution with honor," Ozai shouted, and I laughed like I haven't done in months.

"You dare to laugh at the Firelord!" One of the men inside the throne room growled, his emotions depicted clearly he wanted to fight, and I had no time waste with him, I gathered the water around him, and with a single move of my hand, I pushed the water I had gathered inside him… filling him up through every crack, every cut, and every hole on his body, without letting the water get out, I held this for a few seconds before he exploded in a blossoming explosion of gore.

"That's a new one," I chuckled, "Name pending,"

Fear, fear took control of everybody in the room except Ozai, who simply looked at me with curiosity and anger, "You are the Avatar!" Ozai hissed, finally vocalizing something.

"I guess you are technically correct," I hummed, "But I am not the one you been hunting though… believe me, unlike Aang I would've come here… to kill you, so congratulations, you choose the right Avatar to follow, ten out of ten," I winked.

"There are two Avatars? Lies!" Ozai growled.

"One is a bald prepubecent kid…. I don't know what else to tell you," I shrugged, if he didn't want to believe, it was his deal.

"It doesn't matter anyway, one or ten… they will all kneel before me… before losing their heads," Ozai said as he stood up from his seat, walking towards me, trying to intimidate me.

"Ozai, I didn't come here to fight you," I chuckled.

"No, you came here to die," Ozai growled, throwing a powerful stream of fire at me, strong enough that I know saw the difference between Zuko and him, at it, was massive, but I remained unfazed, unmoving, meeting his attack head-on.

After the smoke cleared up, I asked while cleaning my clothes with waterbending, "Are you done throwing a tantrum?"

"You will learn to respect me before you die!" Ozai barked.

"I think it most likely to expect Aang killing someone… than to expect respect from me, especially to you," I sighed, rolling my eyes at him, "I came here to let you know… you have till the comet to plan how to defeat me, I will come for you… and I will kill you… not because I want to save the world, fuck that… not because I want revenge, and certainly not because you are a threat to me…. No, I do it because I WILL enjoy the crap out of it," I heard Vaatu shout, "I'm sorry, we will enjoy it,"

"You think! You can defeat me!" Ozai screamed in rage, but before he was able to attack once again, I kicked the ground and forced the columns and any other vital structure in the throne room to collapse.

"Maybe I should've just karate chop him in the neck… oh well, he survived that…" I sighed, feeling his heartbeat with my seismic sense, "He was the only one though, the irony is there but I am too lazy to point it out,"

--I HAVE THE PERFECT WAY TO KILL HIM! LETS BURN HIM ALIVE LIKE HUMANS DID TO WITCHES IN YOUR WORLD! BUT BEFORE YOU DO THAT… TAKE HIS BENDING AWAY! HIS DEATH WOULD MOST IRONIC!-- Huh, someone sure was excited to kill Ozai, damn.

"Vaatu... witches aren't real though... but they did burn innocent humans for stupid reasons," I chuckled.

—So humans just... burned other humans, EVEN BETTER!—
