Chapter 17: Worth it!

Annie looked at the girl suspiciously "What do you know about my wish?"

She expected something, but the answer left her feeling weird "Nothing, so why don't you start talking already?"

Annie breathed out a sigh at the shamelessness of the girl while hearing chuckling from the boy behind her 'She made a promise without even knowing her end of the deal, this is not very trustworthy'

"If you don't know it then how could you know that you can make it?" asked the blond girl while narrowing her eyes.

"Have you ever seen us fail?"

That was a fair point, Annie thought, she had never seen any of the two fail in anything that they put their mind in, be it games or training, they always stood at the absolute top, no matter what.

Even if talking with them didn't make it seem likely, as they were morons most of the time.

Seeing Annie still skeptical, Liesl decided to take it a step further "Let's do it like this, Kle will promise too and you know how Kle is made"

"Hey, don't put words in my mouth!" reacted Klemens, he has never taken promises likely and to this day, never once had he broken one, in this sense he was probably the most trustworthy person they had ever met.

"Were you gonna refuse?" asked his best friend.

He leaned against a wall pouting and mumbled "Well, no, but still..."

"That's that, so, what do you say, Annie?" she ignored the rest of what the boy was going to say cutting him off, to his great displeasure.

'Still morons, but at least I know they will do their best and honestly, this is not a situation where I can hope for much else' thought the bound blond girl.

"Deal"

"Great, now tell us your story and your wish, in whichever order you prefer and be ready for questions" replied Liesl with a wide smile on her face seeing as her entire plan had gone perfectly down to the smallest details she had preplanned with the black haired boy.

Annie stayed silent for a while, deciding from were to start to make the most sense, but she realized something and decided to bring it up.

"Can you untie me, by the way, it gets a little uncomfortable like this"

She had no intention to try and escape, she knew perfectly that while the two other people in the room, while seeming like easygoing fellows, were absolute monsters in slaying titans so the thought of turning into one to escape was absolutely off the table.

The possibility of besting them in hand to hand combat was even more unlikely, the girl seemed to be able to read minds and the boy was too fast and too physically strong to be countered and this was not even considering the fact that he was also more skilled than her.

She had long since realized that escaping from the clutches of the two was impossible, so why try?

"Oh yeah, sure, Kle go ahead" gestured the red haired girl weaving her hand at her friend.

But her friend didn't want to, the plan had gone perfectly and from now on it was improvisation, which meant that he could mess around again "No, you do it"

He was being childish and he knew it, but why would he care? He found bothering the girl way more enjoyable than being mature.

The girl pouted, she was having fun ordering him around, but she knew that if she started arguing with him he would only find it funny, even if she eventually won, it wasn't worth it.

So she untied Annie, to the relief of the girl, it seemed that the two trusted her even after knowing that she was a titan, which left her dumbfounded.

"Don't you think that I'll try and escape?" she knew she wouldn't do it, but the two of them didn't, so why did they release her so easily?

"Oh, no worry, we trust you" replied the girl, to which the boy nodded.

This made Annie feel weird and afraid 'Will they still trust me after they know all I've done? Will they still help me, or will they just kill me?'

She was afraid that they wouldn't be able to tolerate what she did and she thought that they had every right to just kill her after knowing the truth, she knew that they lost their families when they opened the breach in Shiganshina.

She never wanted to kill anyone, she just wanted to go back home and live happily, to not fight again.

But just as they did, she decided to take a leap of faith and truth that they wouldn't just straight up kill her, she knew them enough to know that neither was a killer, but nobody can know how someone would react when meeting the person who caused their parents death.

Annie finally decided on what to start "There are people outside the wall"

"Cool, go on" replied Liesl, not seeming very surprised at the affirmation, but more intrigued by the possibilities of such a claim as her mind was goin in overdrive imagining what the outside world who could make humans into titans could look like.

Annie, was slightly disturbed at the absence of the reaction she expected "Aren't either of you surprised" she asked after seeing that Klemens had shown a similar reaction, just less curious.

"Yeah, we are, but it was one of the possibilities we predicted" replied Klemens.

"The most likely one too, the others were that there actually is a secret society controlling the land inside the walls with the power of titans and we were simply wrong in our assumptions and Eren was an exception, but both were way too unlikely to be true" continued the girl, not knowing that she went scarily near another truth.

Annie was now numb by the scary prediction abilities of the two, so she just kept going "The outside world is divided into many countries and there is no threat of titans attacking them so we have prospered technologically for the last hundred years.

I come from a land called Marley and the people inside the walls are the descendants of the ancient Eldian Empire or as you're more commonly known, the descendants of the Devil"

"Devil?" mumbled Klemens, unsettled by the appellative.

"Ymir, the original titan whose power was used to conquer and control the entire world for two thousand years, until a hundred years ago the Great Titan War happened and Eldia lost.

The king at the time took some of his remaining subjects and hide, building the walls with the power of the titans..." the story continued as the two were informed of a truth far more scary than what they had imagined.

---------------------------

Annie had spent a long time telling the two the history that she knew and replying to the many questions the two had, many of which had been left unanswered as not even she knew the answers.

She had only been nothing more than a child when she came to what the two now knew as Paradis Island, so what would she know about the specifics of the political world?

And why would they even care about how someone installed themselves as someone in the ruling class?

She looked skeptically at Liesl, who had asked those questions and surprisingly she wasn't the only one doing so, as the boy was also doing the same.

"Why do you care about that" asked the boy.

To which the answer was a rather not dumb one, unlike the person giving it "Why not? We never know what could come useful in the future"

"You two are taking all of this rather well" stated the blond girl, somewhat unsettled at the two's lack of reaction at what should have been an incredible truth, but she has long since been aware that the two were always outside of expectations.

"We live in a world were gigantic naked men run around eating people while we are protected in fifty meters tall walls seemingly made from the same block of stone, trust me when I say that this is still within expectations, we already hypothesized about people outside the walls, the rest is only details" Liesl said offhandedly while writing something in a notebook.

"Indeed" replied the boy as he snatched his friend's notebook.

"What do you thing you're doing, dumbass?" said the girl whose protests were aptly ignored by the boy.

"What is this gibberish?" said the boy, the notebook was filled with letters, numbers and weird symbols that he didn't recognize.

"That, my illiterate friend, is a code I created to make my notes unreadable by anyone else.

"Oh look at this, I can read it, it's not that difficult" replied the boy almost giving a stroke to the girl.

'How does he know? Was it too easy? Is there a spy? Impossible! Only I know the code, unless I told him..." as she started thinking the boy started talking again.

"This means" he narrowed his eyes, making it look like he was putting in a great amount of effort into reading what was written and putting on a very convincing show, making both believe it.

"Klemens... is too hot... I wanna smooch him all night long..." said Klemens who suddenly received a strong punch on the shoulder from a very red Liesl who started stuttering and failing to say a word in reply.

"You dumb shit!" screamed then the girl, forcibly taking back her notebook from his hands.

Klemens started laughing sonorously "Don't worry, it was just a joke princess, unless..." he said with a smirk at the end.

This only made Liesl shut her mouth more red than before.

Seeing her not replying while looking down made Klemens feel weird inside, but fortunately, Annie emitted a cough that made the two snap back to reality, away from their pink world they had slowly closed themselves into, making the third person in the room feel not at ease at all.

"If you lovebirds are done, how about we discuss how you're going to help me?"

The two calmed down immediately, they knew what took the priority at the moment.

While Klemens was thinking, Liesl started talking once again "How long can you stay in titan mode?"

"A few hours, why?" replied the girl in question.

"Nothing, I thought of a plan but it would take way longer so nothing"

Then, Klemens came out with his own plan "As I see it, we can only wait and see how the current situation evolves, I'm sorry Annie, but we will take a bit more to take you back to your father"

"Why would we have to wait?" asked the blond girl, the idea of staying on the island for more left her feeling depressed, even if she had two people she could trust she never knew if others would find out about her just like they did.

"Eren. We need to wait and see how the Eren situation evolves and the Army's reaction, as things are going they will probably put him under commander Erwin, which means we have a possible way of closing the breach in the walls.

Once that is done they will concentrate all efforts into cleaning the island from any surviving titan, this will give us the possibility of reaching your Marley without worrying about titans"

To Annie, this sounded like a good plan, but it was assuming way too many things, like if Eren was actually going to be under Erwin or if he could actually close the breaches in the walls.

But it was Liesl that asked what she was concerned about "How do you think they'll be able to use him to close that huge hole in the wall even if they have a titan with them, genius?"

"Well, let me explain in a way that even the small brained you can understand" he then proceeded to slightly lower himself to reach her eye level, which wasn't a lot shorter than him, but it worked to add drama.

"Titan huge and strong" he said making big movements with his arms and flexing his biceps "Huge titan bring huuuuge rock and closes huge hole!"

He did get punched, repeatedly, but as he said, it was "Worth it"
