ATLA: The Master

What would happen if a chance was given to a man? A chance to rewrite history that he once thought to be fiction, and change both himself and the world. For the better or worse, follow Kypher as he survives in a world he was destined for... I'll try to update once a day. No harem, always hated them. Ps. I do not own any of the characters except of my original ones.

Chapter 11 The Mission

"Maybe it's time to visit him. He might be able to help me..." Kypher spoke to himself, to muddled up in his thoughts to realise, that his student was a few feet from the entrance to his cave.

--------------------------------------------

It took Kypher some time, to sort everything out, He was starting to stagnate. He was far from being strong enough to protect himself from Ozai. He needed to grow and sort out his thoughts together. There was only one person that could teach him how to do this.

"Morning Toph, so what did you concluded?" He turned around only to see, or sense, that Toph was sad.

"What happened? Are you ok?" He tried to ask.

"Are you going to leave?" Toph interrupted and questioned him with a sad look. Kypher just sighed. It's hard to remember that the girl turned 10 a couple months ago from her upbeat and sarcasm loving personality..

"Toph, have you found your answer?" He moved from his spot and started walking to wards the cliff near them. Toph immediately followed behind him.

"Don't change the question!" She yelled, she seemed to be more hurt than he imagined.

"Answer my question, and I'll answer yours, ok?" Kypher promised her and sat down at the edge, facing the endless storming ocean and cold wind.

"Because you could?"Toph attempted, this was the only answer she could think of. Kypher just shook his head.

"Toph, its because you have a good heart, to try to act tough, but underneath all that bravado, there is a kind person, who is trying to help others. That's why I chose to teach you." He had seen how she acted with other people, she would hate when people pitied her, yet she still helped them out of their problems.

"As for me leaving, yeah, its about time I go to deal with something that has been plaguing me for a few years now." He paused for a second to contemplate, then sighed. "I have taught you all you will need to know, everything else you can do by yourself, you also can no longer hide that you can see a bit, although do make your story believable at least-" He was interrupted by a hug that nearly threw him off the edge, it was surprising really, Toph hugging someone, never imagined it. He would expect a punch. Was it because she was 10? Or was it him that changed her.

"Do you have to go? You're my only friend here."Kypher chuckled at the attempt to guilt him into not going. He quickly shook her off of him and decided say goodbye in a way she will remember. A way that will be ingrained into her mind like burning iron.

"In a few years you'll meet a few kids your age, looking for some one to teach them earth bending, those will be you real friends" He dramatically paused and grinned "As for me, lets just go with me being a dead old friend.." This made Toph's eyes open wide in horror. She saw him start to lean backwards, falling off the edge of the cliff. "Bye Toph, it was a joy meeting you." He shouted while free falling downwards. 'Oh how pissed off she will be when she won't find a corpse.'

"GOJO NOOOOOOO" She tried to earth bend a platform underneath him yet she couldn't sense him. She jumped down trying to see if he survived. Yet once she reached the beach underneath she couldn't find him. It was like he had vanished from the face of the earth. She grinded her teeth." I WILL BEAT THE SHT OUT OF YOU, WHEN I FIND YOU."

Up on the cliff

"Oh, how wrong you are Toph." Kypher just grinned seeing her response to his little prank. Although it did seem it would be a headache to deal with later on, he just ignored. And walked back to his cave, where he packed his stuff and left a note as well as a few empty books for Toph. He knew those books had nothing in them. There's another reason why she would hate him later on.

Kypher had started to rush back to the port in order to get on the ship that was prepared for him and told the crew to set sail. He had warned them a few hours ago, to start preparing to leave. It was it was time to visit a guru.

----------------------------------------------

The ride across the Eastern sea was quite pleasant for Kypher and the crew. Except for the first day, where the rain and storm did not stop till night, they had a sunny skies throughout the journey. It had taken them 5 days in total to reach the Eastern islands, where Kypher had jumped off the boat. He wished the crew a safe return and started walking towards the temple.

On his way there Kypher had met multiple animals, some wild and dangerous, yet none attacked him, which surprised him slightly. At one point he arrived at a large empty field where a man was meditating, while a large amount of animals sat around and

"Hello there, young man. What brings you to this side of the world?" The guru asked with a warm voice

"Greeting guru, and I've come to learn about chakras" Kypher responded and sat down in front of the guru.

"Oh, that's uncommon. But very well, are you aware of what chakras truly are?" The guru asked patiently, expecting the answer to be no.

"I believe I do, the 7 chakras are like pools of energy in the body, to unblock these pools one must let go negative emotions, is that correct." Kypher responded to the best of his abilities. The guru in return responded "Close enough, however you got one thing wrong. There are 7 chakras but only the avatar is required to open all 7. Everybody else, is able to open the 6, while the 7 is one which most are unable to open." This surprised Kypher, he was unaware that it was different for others, however he still had a question burning in his mind.

"Is it the same for me?" he said while stretching out both his hands and willing the specific elements to appear in his palms. The guru was pleasantly surprised.

"2 elements in 1 body it seems as if a powerful spirit has blessed you." The guru evaluated with a knowing look, causing Kypher to look surprised.

"You know what happened to me? Has this happened before?" Kypher nearly shouted out loudly, causing the animals to startle and run away.

"Oh yes, it has but very rarely, so rarely that it happens only twice during an avatar's presence in the world"

"Who is the other person?"

The guru stretched out his hands, as if copying Kypher's previous actions, and a water ball appeared in the hand while an earth ball appeared in his other hand.

"Me!" The guru said excitedly.

"You see the avatar is not the only person who is blessed by a spirit. The twins also bless 2 people in every avatar generation. The 2 people blessed, are usually 2 opposite types of people with 2 opposing elements. You have fire and air, while I have water and earth. While I get stronger through meditation, you get stronger through battles. However due to me actions at opening the last chakra, I am unable to help you with our mission."

"What do you mean by that, why are chakra not able to help me? What is my mission."

"The chakras are useless to you. The real reason chakras exist is to let go of earthly desires and live a life of freedom, however you must bear the consequence of my actions and help the avatar. You must keep the him alive, while I must teach him. That is our mission" He said with a up beat tone which contrasted to the words he spoke of at the moment. It seemed he truly let go of all guilt and shame. Shameless old man. Literarily.

"Do not worry though, through my experience, I can show you the ways of better understanding the elements, which in return will bring you the power you seek." This made Kypher feel a bit better about his adventure here.

And so they started talking, mostly the guru, about the elements, how they feel about them, how they move, how to properly control both at the same time, something Kypher was struggling to do, how to properly channel them and which chi-points were more useful than others.

Kypher was surprised. It seemed as if the guru was more dangerous than even Ozai, with the amount of knowledge he possessed. Yet once again Kypher thanked Michael DiMartino for making the guru, a guru instead of a war lord, seriously.

It was only until the next day that they had concluded their discussion. It was something that Kypher needed, wisdom, another perspective, advice. He had been working on his own for many years now and the advice of a man nearly 150 years old was truly fascinating. But enough was enough, he had to continue on his journey. It was currently 98 AG the winter had just passed and the story would start in a bit less than 2 years.

He had fulfilled his promise to his father and had enough power to protect himself. It was time. He entered one of the monks temples, grabbed one of the more useful air staffs that were littered on the floor, most in pieces, and threw himself off the edge...

Yet he flew upwards, just like Aang did. It was an amazing feeling flying in the air. A human dream. And so it was time to head east,

Towards the Fire nation...

-----------------------------------------------------

Hello guys,

There, soon the story will start, but before that he will meet a few people, who you might know as well as some new people. Also, for the people who are confused about heading east and not west, let me remind you. The earth is round... ok?

Big thanks to...
