At that moment, Orion was still basking in his excitement when three imposing figures materialized before him, their auras radiating immense power.
"My lord, I, Ye Bai, the Qinglian Sword Emperor, pay my respects!" A young man clad in white with a sword on his back stepped forward. His presence was sharp, like the edge of his blade.
"I am the Empress Jiuyou, You Susu, and I too greet my lord," a cold, ethereal voice chimed in. The speaker was a veiled woman of incomparable beauty, her aura dark and enigmatic, carrying a sinister elegance that could only be described as otherworldly.
"And I... I'm the Nine-turn Spiral Ascension Pill," a small boy with wide, innocent eyes spoke next, scratching his head shyly. His voice was soft, almost unsure. "But I don't have a real name…"
The boy's hesitation was palpable. His childish face showed a mix of embarrassment and hope, as if fearing rejection.
Orion, however, barely registered the boy's words. His gaze had locked onto You Susu, unable to tear his eyes away. The veil she wore only enhanced her allure, and her purple hair, mole on her forehead, and the delicate stockings beneath her dress made her even more captivating. Her cold demeanor only heightened her charm.
For a long moment, Orion was lost in thought, drawn to her presence like a moth to flame. Finally, he blinked, snapping himself out of his trance, awkwardly clearing his throat. "Ahem... well, um, greetings to you all."
You Susu, her expression unreadable behind her veil, gave no indication she had noticed his lapse. She remained cold and aloof, as though nothing had happened.
Orion, now attempting to recover, turned toward the boy, only then noticing his presence. "Wait, why are there three of you?" His eyes flicked back and forth in confusion. "Where did this kid come from?"
His mind raced. Didn't I summon two great emperors? He mentally tallied up the rewards he had just received: the emperor-level power upgrade card, the exclusive guards... and then it hit him.
The little boy standing before him wasn't just any child.
"You've got to be kidding me," Orion muttered under his breath, wide-eyed. "Is this... is this the Nine-turn Spiral Ascension Pill?"
The system, as if on cue, confirmed his suspicion. The boy was indeed the refined version of the Nine-turn Spiral Ascension Pill!
Stunned, Orion knelt down to the boy's level. "Kid, what are you doing squatting here?"
Tears welled up in the little boy's eyes as he looked at Orion with heartbreaking sadness. "Lord… do you hate me?" His voice trembled with emotion.
Orion was taken aback. "Hate you? No! Why would you think that?"
"You didn't even look at me when I greeted you," the boy sniffled, clearly upset. "You ignored me completely."
Orion, embarrassed, realized what had happened. He had been so fixated on You Susu's appearance that he hadn't even noticed the boy's introduction.
"Ah, no, kid! That's not it at all!" Orion stammered, trying to make amends. "I was just... distracted."
The boy's lower lip quivered. "Is it because I don't have a name?"
"No, no, that's not it!" Orion reassured him quickly, laughing to ease the tension. "In fact, let's fix that right now." After a brief pause, he said, "Your product name is Nine-turn Spiral Ascension Pill, right? Let's call you... Spiral. And since you're with me, your last name will be Lu."
"Lu Spiral," Orion said with a flourish. "How's that?"
The boy blinked, his innocent eyes wide. "Lu Spiral... Lu Spiral...?" His face lit up with joy. "Thank you, Lord! I have a name now!"
Meanwhile, Ye Bai and You Susu exchanged glances. Ye Bai sighed. You Susu, however, simply rolled her eyes discreetly, clearly unimpressed by Orion's naming skills.
Just then, a ripple of energy tore through the air above Chang'an City, and two figures descended from the sky: Luo Yi and Cao Chun.
"My lord, be cautious!" Ye Bai and You Susu tensed, ready to defend.
Orion waved them off with a smile. "Relax, they're with us."
Luo Yi and Cao Chun knelt before him, their voices loud and clear. "We, Luo Yi and Cao Chun, have returned victorious and slain the enemy!"
Seeing them, Orion's smile widened. He had seen the system notifications earlier about the three half-emperors being killed, and now, with his trusted generals back at his side, it confirmed that victory was his.
"Well done, both of you," Orion said, his voice brimming with pride. But even as he spoke, his mind was already racing toward the next step. His empire was growing, and with his new guards and allies by his side, nothing could stop him now.
And in the midst of his growing power, one thought lingered in the back of his mind:
This is only the beginning.
