In the chaos of the battlefield, the sudden appearance of three thousand Tiger and Leopard Cavalry left Da Zhou's forces dumbstruck. Soldiers and commanders alike stared, their expressions betraying shock and disbelief. Elite warriors materializing out of thin air? It defied all logic.
"What... what in the world?" one of the soldiers muttered, his voice quaking with confusion.
An elderly strategist, his eyes sharp with intellect, was the first to regain his composure. "Spatial fluctuations," he murmured, nodding sagely. "Finn must have hidden these troops nearby with some form of space technique. He planned this, hoping to catch us off guard."
The soldiers around him, still dazed, nodded in agreement. Of course, that had to be the explanation. It was the only thing that made sense, even if it barely did.
Yet, as they convinced themselves of this rationalization, none of them noticed the faint black energy swirling just beyond the battlefield, hidden in the shadows, its ominous presence undetected.
Meanwhile, the Tiger and Leopard Cavalry stood at attention, their overwhelming aura undeniable. The sheer power radiating from them unsettled even the strongest warriors of Da Zhou. Whispered fears spread through the ranks.
"Just how many trump cards does Finn have?" one warrior muttered, scanning the battlefield for any more hidden surprises.
While Da Zhou's soldiers wrestled with uncertainty, Ancestor Chaoyang, hovering in the sky, couldn't tear his gaze away from the leader of this fearsome cavalry: Cao Chun.
"Half-Emperor..." the words slipped from Ancestor Chaoyang's lips, his expression betraying a rare moment of fear. He sensed the immense power radiating from Cao Chun, a power that made him feel... small.
Cao Chun, the commander of the Tiger and Leopard Cavalry, was not just any Half-Emperor. He was at the peak, a realm far above Chaoyang's own status as a junior Half-Emperor. The difference in power was unmistakable.
Beads of sweat dotted Chaoyang's brow as he began to reconsider his situation. "Perhaps... surrendering isn't such a bad option," he muttered, his pride battling with his survival instinct. Yes, losing face was one thing, but losing his life? That wasn't a risk he was willing to take.
Little did he know that Finn had more aces up his sleeve, including two even stronger warriors hidden in the void, locked in their own battles. If Ancestor Chaoyang had known, he would've fled long before the fight started.
Cao Chun's eyes, fierce and unyielding, locked onto Chaoyang. "My lord," he said, his voice a rumbling storm. "There's a threat in the sky. Allow me to deal with him."
Finn nodded, a smirk curling at his lips. "Go ahead, General Cao. But be careful. I wouldn't want to lose such a valuable commander."
Cao Chun bowed deeply, the fierce loyalty in his eyes unmistakable. His every move radiated fervor, as if his very soul belonged to Finn. In one swift motion, he drew his double-edged golden saber and launched himself into the sky.
"Come face me!" Cao Chun roared, his voice shaking the air as he charged at Ancestor Chaoyang.
The clash was immediate. Swords flashed like lightning, and Chaoyang found himself on the defensive, barely able to parry the onslaught. Every strike from Cao Chun reverberated through his body, threatening to tear him apart. His blood surged, and his grip on his weapon faltered.
"So strong..." Chaoyang thought, panic setting in. He had underestimated this commander's power.
He tried to retreat, but Cao Chun's relentless assault gave him no opportunity. Waves of attacks crashed down on him, each one stronger than the last, like a river in flood, threatening to drown him.
"I can't... I can't hold out much longer," Chaoyang thought desperately as he blocked another devastating strike. His strength was failing, and the realization of his imminent defeat weighed heavily on him.
"Wait!" Chaoyang cried out, his voice laced with desperation. "I yield! I surrender!"
But Cao Chun only sneered, his blades moving faster, his strikes hitting harder. This was no time for mercy. The battlefield had no room for the weak or the cowardly. Chaoyang's pleas were nothing more than background noise to him.
"No man stops in the middle of a fight!" Cao Chun growled, his eyes gleaming with deadly intent.
With a final, devastating swing of his twin blades, Cao Chun unleashed a cross-shaped arc of sword energy. The attack hurtled toward Chaoyang, unstoppable and terrifying in its power.
"This is it..." Chaoyang thought, his mind going blank as the sword energy closed in. There was no escaping it. He could feel it in his bones.
And then, with a blinding flash, the attack struck.
