Awoken

The popularity of the elf is increasing in a frightening rate all thanks to her beauty. Although, if people find out about her prowess, then she would probably be more known that way by hunters.

At the same time, Astasia had finally awoken from her deep sleep. However, no one was there to tend to her, "Ah fuck. Jack, how long did I sleep for?"

She questioned him as he was forced to wake up from the summoning room, "Two and a half weeks, my queen." Astasia expected the long sleep she would be in, but when she failed to realize that she had forgotten to consider how her family would feel, she was utterly disappointed in herself.

"Where's my mom?" she questioned Jack.

"She is safe at home."

Without replying to him, she quickly left using Irith leaving a concerned guardian. He could understand her worries and anxiety, but he could do nothing of it.

Knock.

Knock.

The moment the door opened, a woman opened the door. Marie wore her usual pink apron and a wrinkled yellow shirt,

"Asha?! Did you get discharge? Are you okay?" Marie checked her body to see if she felt any pain.

"I'm okay mom. Nothing serious,"

"Nothing serious?! You say that after sleeping for two weeks!? Do you know how worried I was? You didn't even tell me you were a hunter!"

"I-I just signed up recently... Aha..."

"God... What do I do with you... Let's just eat lunch. Luke is at school right now, so it will just be us two,"

"Yes mother"

Astasia was known to be the most powerful woman to ever exist in Aether, but nothing was more scarier than her mother raising her voice at her. It's as if she's the final boss.

Although, it made her sad when her complexion was worse than usual. It seemed as if Marie hasn't been taking of herself lately, but she couldn't bear to speak up and let time fix everything.

The mother and the daughter ate together in peace, talking about their love life. Eventually, Astasia spoke about Kai in a detailed explanation.

Kai and Jaena helped lower ranking members train on how to fight, but even this did not make him feel better, "Kai, you did great. You should go home now," Jaena patted his shoulder.

So he did.

Kai immediately left the facility and made his way back to the hospital. It was at that moment when he saw Astasia, "What the hell? I'm even hallucinating now?" He smiled sadly to himself, the dark circles clearly visible.

He walked away, deciding to ignore his hallucinations, but it didn't stop. She was coming closer and closer with a huge smile on her face, "Kai!!" She yelled, slapping both his cheeks.

What?

Kai was taken aback from her action. What kind of hallucination was this? Even if he missed her, this isn't really realistic...

"Hello? Are you okay? You look so dead," she caress his cheeks with a frown.

"Why do you feel so real?" Kai strokes her soft hair with a painful smile stuck on his face.

'Why is this guy being so dramatic?' She thought to herself.

Then, she slapped his head hard enough for him to take a step back, "Do you still think I'm fake?" She says with her arms crossed.

"What the fuck?" His palm was on top of his reddened cheek, staring at Astasia in disbelief. Although, it seems he was back to normal after her slap.

"Let's get McDonald's. I'm hungry, and I have things to discuss other you," She entangled fingers with him and ate at McDonald's.

As usual, her orders were always excessive, while Kai only ordered so little, but seeing her eat so much was a relief to him. Astasia was really back and better.

"What I'm about to say may sound crazy and it doesn't matter if you believe me or not, but those things that... That chopped off your arm," She clenched her fist, causing the sauce in her burger to fall out. She remembered the scene as if it was just yesterday, but Kai calmed her down, "they're called, Demigods."

"Demigods? I think I heard that somewhere before... Ah, it was when I was cleaning up and one of the monsters said something like the demigods taking over Aether?"

"In my senior year, I was suddenly taken into a world called Aether. There's hundreds of different dimensions out there, and Aether is one of them. In there, I made quite a name for myself," she boasted while smiling proudly, "Now, there's three races that dominated the other races. It was the demigods, the demons, and the elf's"

Elf? That word somehow sparked a memory to Kai but he couldn't recall, "Right...," he replied to her explanation. It would be impossible to come up with such a detailed explanation for this to be a joke or a lie, especially when he has heard Aether from the mouth of a monster he's fought before.

"The demons and elf's weren't a problem. People knew about both races, but the demigods were always a mystery. I guess you can see them as North Korea. No one has really seen them or stayed alive to tell the tale, but now that I left that world, they're starting a war not only in Aether but here too,"

"But why would they want to invade earth too? And why did they do it after you left?"

"Don't you know my personality? I made sure that anyone who had the intention to take over my country in Aether will surely face death,"

Hearing her response, he was able to get the gist of everything and how it all started. He guessed that she must have started all of this to a certain degree.

The conversation and explanation took quite a while before they headed back home to enjoy their time together. It's been so long since they came back home, so they both came to a consensus result. Although, Astasia initially wanted to go shopping for new undergarments as Kai argues that she didn't need one.

"I'm going to shower first," Astasia informed Kai who nodded his head in understanding.

The moment she was gone from his sight, he quickly prepared snacks for their movie marathon that they plan on doing.
