A place to stay

Inside McDonalds, two good-looking people sat across each other. One had a tray filled with a large McFlurry, large fries, two McChicken, and nuggets while the other simply had a small sized soda, "Thank you so much for the food! I haven't had this in a while," Astasia showed a joyful expression while eating the burger and shoving a fries inside her mouth at the same time.

She was odd compared to the other woman he's met, but it was somewhat a refreshing experience to him. It just meant that not all women were all about beauty and elegance.

"Well, now that I bought you food, I'm going then," Kai stands up to leave but she grabbed his sleeve with her mouth still full, "Wrrt," she mumbled with food inside her mouth.

"What?"

"Wait," she swallowed her food altogether, almost choking and then adding on to her sentence, "please let me stay over at your place. I don't have anywhere to go," she looked a bit apologetic but she didn't care if she was bothering someone else. All she cared about was sleeping somewhere nicer than the streets.

"Huuh? Go ask your parents. I don't have time to take in a kid like you," he pulled his arms away and left but Astasia quickly shoved her food inside the paper bag and followed after Kai, "Wai-" She was cut off when another man bumped into her. This time, he appeared to be a body builder, "M-my McFlurry," Astasia stared at her wasted food on the ground.

As much as she wanted to break the neck of the guy, she couldn't. It's not Aether, "Get me another one," she demanded from the man. When Kai turned around, he felt the same murderous intent from when they met. He wouldn't really care if she actually killed the guy in front of her but knowing that she's seen as his fiancé might stir up unnecessary trouble that he didn't want to deal with later on. Scandal is one thing, but a scandal WITH a murderer is another thing.

"The hell are you doing always starting fights with other people," he grabbed her wrist and dragged her away but the man didn't allow things to end without an apology, "Hey you better apologize to me."

When Kai turned around to reveal his face, the man suddenly backed away and showed signs of fear. He knew instantly who this man was standing right before him was and he dared not to provoke him any longer before he losses a finger, "On second thought, I'm in a hurry!" The man fled before anything could happen to him.

After such little incident, Kai dragged her inside his white BMW and drove off, "Do you always start trouble?" He sighs, the unbelievable expression stuck on his face while driving. He's never met a woman who was as troublesome as her, yet he can't leave her alone.

"Please let me stay at your place. I really really need to find a place to sleep," she begged with sparkling eyes. He wasn't swayed by her beauty, but her persistency finally allowed her to go home with him. Turns out, he lived inside the suite of a well-known hotel owned by his guild, "Woow, you live in a nice place. I'll be borrowing your clothes!" She grabbed a plain top from the closet of the room.

"Wait that's-" Kai couldn't even stop her as she had already gone to the bathroom. All he could do was let out a heavy sigh at her stubbornness. How can someone as beautiful as her enter a man's house without feeling danger? Especially when Kai is a hunter.

After an hour of showering, since she had to dry her underwear, she walks around with his oversized white shirt. Kai was already on his laptop FaceTiming a woman discussing about the recent activities of the dungeon gates, but when she noticed Astasia in the back, her eyes were fixated on her and the feeling of jealousy began to erupt within her.

Just who was she to enter Kai's house wearing his clothes? She had recently read an article about Kai announcing that he had a fiancé, but she didn't think it was true. Now that she's seeing the evidence in front of her, her heart was filled with jealousy and irritation. This whole time, due to their multiple partnership in dungeon hunts, she had thought they were more than just guild mates. Perhaps, she had hope that there was more to it.

"Who is that woman?!" Her voice came out stronger than she had intended. When Kai finally realized Astasia in the back, he let out a heavy sigh, "Please give me a moment," he says, muting the mic and hiding the camera. Then, he walked over to Astasia and carried her like a princess, "I'm having an important discussion. Just stay in my room for now."

"Oh? I thought she was your girlfriend. Well, whatever. I'll sleep now then"

"Girlfriend? If she knew that then why would she purposely show herself in the camera?" Kai mumbled to himself as he left the room, but the answer to his question, in reality, was because she just wanted to look around the fancy place. She didn't really care if she had caused a misunderstanding or caused a break up.

After all, the place was too fancy to not look.

"Sorry for the wait. Anyways, I heard from the guild master that we will be raiding an S-rank dungeon soon. I was busy clearing a dungeon myself so tell me about it."

"Right. Recently, the number of high rank gates have been increasing slowly. Most of them are appearing by the beaches and we still don't know why"

"The beach? Hmm... Okay well, let the guild master know that I'll be visiting him tomorrow after I take a look at the dungeon gates by the beach"

"Can I come with you tomorrow?!"

"Jeana, you have a lot of work to do. Focus on that. I'll be logging off now," Kai turns off his laptop and rests his head on the chair. He was thinking why dungeon gates would even appear by the beaches. Did that mean that the monsters they hunt picks the location of where they want to open their gates? If so, they must be smarter than they had thought.

"Damn. This is getting more complicated," he rubbed his temples at the stress. He hated being stressed, but at the same time this was nothing new to his lifestyle.

When he opened the door to his room, Astasia was sleeping soundly on his bed. She had one pillow on her head while she hugged the other pillow. Kai couldn't help but smile at her appearance. She looked so peaceful and innocent, "Move over," he pushed her to the side while grabbing the blanket that she was hovering to herself.

Even though he was sharing a bed with a woman whom he just met, it didn't feel so bad after all. Perhaps, it was because of her soul that he could see? The amazing color of her soul that made him question her.
