Chapter 2: New Beginning

Sam's eyes fluttered open, revealing a bewildered expression as he surveyed his surroundings. "What the hell? I am alive?".

"Why am I alive?". He awoke as if emerging from the depths of the worst hangover imaginable, instinctively placing his right hand on the spot where the gang member had previously shot him with a gun.

To his astonishment, he discovered the absence of wounds or blood on his attire. Furthermore, he was taken aback to observe that he adorned different garments compared to the delivery uniform he had been wearing at the moment of his death.

He discovers himself donning a white robe that fits him perfectly. Just to be certain, he meticulously examines his body, making sure there's no possibility of inhabiting someone else's body, but it becomes evident that it is undoubtedly his own body.

"So I've been isekai'd to another world?" He kept his chin up as if he were thinking hard. "Going by the script, I should have been isekai'd with some kind of system, right?".

<Ding!>

'Here we go again'. Sam remarked.

<All the requirements have been fulfilled.>

<Activating the systems...>

A voice, devoid of any emotions, echoed mechanically within his mind.

<Activating the Directional System...>

"Directional system? I wonder what it does?". Sam wondered aloud, his realization of being alone in an unfamiliar forest washing over him. With daylight casting a stillness upon the surroundings, he reassured himself that, at least for the moment, he was in a secure place.

<Directional System has been successfully activated>

As he was on the verge of activating his recently acquired system, he was interrupted once more by the familiar sound of a ding.

<Ding!>

<Activating the Merger System...>

<The Merger System has been successfully activated>

"What the heck? Another system?". Sam's mouth gaped open in astonishment and disbelief. His heart raced with anticipation as he pondered the significance of multiple systems. Memories flooded his mind of the Isekai novels' protagonists, who would unlock overpowered systems, propelling them to the pinnacle of their world.

Before he could continue, he was once again interrupted by another ding.

<Ding!>

<Activating The Familial System...>

<The Familial System has been successfully activated>

<The host can summon the systems by invoking their names.>

Sam was confronted with three distinct floating windows, each sporting a unique interface and color scheme. The directional system's interface exuded a vibrant shade of green; the Merger System stood out with its fiery red hue; and the Familial system embraced a calming blue color. In a way, Sam found himself immersed in an RGB system.

"It's going to be a pain in the Ass managing three systems at once.". Sam muttered under his breath.

As if giving a solution to Sam's problem, the system provided Sam with an option. The solution was he could merge the three systems using the Merger system's merging function, Sam merged the three systems into a single, overpowered system.

<Would you like to merge the three systems into a single System, Host?>

"Yes". Sam gave his order.

<Merging the three blessed systems>

<Progress: 1%...9%...25%...69%>

The progress bar abruptly halted. Before Sam could inquire about why the progress bar had stopped at 69%, it unexpectedly resumed its movement.

<Progress: ...69%...100%>

<The three systems have been merged into a single system>

<Installing The Divine Guidance System....>

<The system can be summoned by the host by saying "System.">

Sam nodded his head as if he understood everything the system said. "System".

His attention was immediately drawn to the fact that the system displayed a name different from his given name on Earth; the individuals at the orphanage had named him Sam Carlson.

But the System gave him a new name: Sam Achilles Balaur.

"Why did you change my name, system?".

<The system did not alter your name>.

"What exactly do you mean? Check again, my name is Sam Carlson". Sam inquired, his voice tense. He didn't like how the system displayed a different name for some reason.

<Name has been verified! Sam Achilles Balaur is your true name, given to you by your mother and a God>

Lost in his seething resentment towards his parents, Sam's expression darkened upon hearing the word "His mother" from the System, revealing his deep-seated disdain for the individuals he despised most. Unbeknownst to him, amidst his anger, he failed to notice a specific word that could have triggered a contrasting reaction.

The foremost concern for him at present resided in his query, "System, What do you know about my parents?"

His face twisted with disdain as he asked, not out of a desire for parental connection, but to deliver a resounding slap to their faces for abandoning him.

<Right now, information on your parents has been sealed.>

"How can I unseal the information then?".

Upon reaching the cave he had spotted earlier, Sam walked towards it and settled upon a misshapen stone resembling a disfigured chair, engaging in conversation with the system.

<To access the information and your sealed memories, you must achieve the pinnacle of Mortal Cultivation.>

"Memories? I have sealed Memories?" Sam inquired, his voice tense. "What the fuck?".

As his frustration grew, he ceased inquiring about his parents and shifted his gaze to the subsequent section, which threatened to elicit an eye-roll from him.

"Isekai'd for the second time? Are you kidding me?".

He didn't want to cope with this headache right now, so he went to the next problem-free section, which showed [Direction Tokens: 3].

"System, What are these tokens?". Sam asked.

<These are direction tokens; each token will point you in a random path that is guaranteed to deliver you something you desire, something you want, or something you need. It is advised that the host utilize it sparingly.>

"This is a nice function",
