I ignored the stares and hopped in my car. I looked at my broken phone, "Now my phone is broken, am I free of that unknown person?" my eyes widened. After a few minutes through the morning traffic, I reached my office.
As I opened the doors to my office, I became dead at the sight.
"You….Why….You…here?" I staggered.
He turned towards me, distracting his attention from the book he was holding. I felt a mild breeze swept over me and I relaxed unknowingly.
"What are you doing here?" I walked to my table.
He closed the book, kept it on the book shelf and moved to me.
"Ash…" his voice soft.
'Oh my heart….What's he doing to me?' my heart thumped crazily.
I felt his warmth as he closed my way stopping me and I looked at him.
"Look, we need to talk!"
'I have nothing to talk about with you!'
"Please, just give me a chance to explain my stance."
'Who let you in?' I shouted and picked my intercom to call my assistant.
He grabbed the receiver and stopped me, "It's about your father's incident, you don't want to know about it?"
My expression gave away my eagerness.
'Then, let's meet tonight at my place,8 p.m. I'll be waiting!' he left.
I collapsed on the floor, "Why does he make me go weak on my knees? Why do I still get overwhelmed by your presence? Why am I attracted to two people at the same time? Damn….Why are you doing this to me, Noah?" I breathed heavily.
'Hey…..You okay?' Nate ran to me, seeing me sitting on the floor.
'Ash…Hey….' he shook me and my eyes stared at his frightened face.
'Are you alright? Can you hear me?'
"Yes, don't worry…"
'Hmph…thank god. I was worried!' he sat next to me, heaving a big sigh.
"You know what Nate?"
'Hm?' He turned to see me.
"Thank you for being there, every time!"
'Hey, come on. What are friends for?' He nudged me with his elbow.
I sighed, wondering about the two cousins.
'What did he tell you?'
"Ah….Just…to talk with him over dinner!"
'That's it?'
"Yeah…." I nodded looking at his questioning face.
'Then why are you like this?'
"Maybe, he does have an effect on me!"
'What about Kai?'
"Eh?" my eyes wide opened, brows raised at his question.
'Tch….You are confused…You always have a better option, you know?' his brow raised, head leaned to his right.
I raised my face gesturing to him, what?
He pointed at himself, shrugged his shoulders and winked with a smile.
I giggled, patting his shoulder and hugged him, "You are the best, and am always grateful to have you in my life! Thank you so much Nate!"
Nate hugged me back, 'I know, right? I am the best friend you'll ever have!' he chuckled.
