First Victory and new spell.

The barrier made of air was quickly loosing strength. It wasn't really a solid barrier to begin with, it was just like a balloon made of mana.

The 2 Electrocute spells had completely vaporized all of the water on the ants. If anything, their bodies were now drier than before.

This was the time to use Fire magic.

I charged up 'Ignition' to the fullest and aimed it at the lone ant in front of me and blasted it with flames.

The ant made some very ugly sounds and caught on fire. The 3 other ants quickly backed off, noticing the fire.

The ant on fire was burning very quickly. and in a matter of 5 seconds, the ant was staggering and struggling to put out the effort. I finished it off with another un-charged Ignition.

After absorbing the dark mana, I had enough mana left to cast atmospheric barrier again and repeat this combo.

After I figured out the perfect combo for these bugs, I was able to slay the rest of the ants with relative ease.

After the battle was over, the tunnels were being lit by the burning corpses of the ants.

I staggeringly walked over to a small rock and sat in front of it, resting my back on the rock.

This was my first ever fight in this world. I went back in my mind to recollect what exactly happened. I started to come up with even better ways to slay them the next time I come across these types of enemies.

But there was one more thing. I didn't feel anything. Not Fear, not Excitement, not Accomplishment, not even Relief.

Ever since I was 13, death has been such as close thing to me, that I'm no longer aware of it. I don't care if I die or not. I'm numb to the fear of death, or the joy or relief people get after cheating death and surviving.

"One thing is for certain though... I need to get much stronger."

From the experience I just had, I was sure I need some kind of binding spell, or at least some spell that slows down the opponent's movements. I concluded this because of what that one ant did. It jumped over the other ants and landed over me, and almost ruined my plan. I can't have a repeat of that...

It is a type of magic that is under the 'Advanced Dark Magic' section of sorcery. It can be used to not only defend, but to also attack. It can make things heavier or lighter. It can be used to push things away or bring things near. It has a wide variety of uses. For a 2nd Circle Sorcerer, The most basic form of gravity magic: 'Dark Press' can be learnt.]

"whoa... Haven't seen the guide answer this much in a while! this gravity magic must be extremely strong but dangerous and difficult to use...", I was surprised at how big the answer was. This meant that 'Gravity Magic' is something completely new.

I went inside another pocket in the wall and sealed it off with Rock Wall and tried to learn the spell.

"Learn Spell: Dark Press!", I said out loud.

An immense pain rose within my head. It felt like some kind of bomb went off inside my brain.

"KUAHHHGGH!" "UGH!" "HRRRMMMM!"

I was making all kinds of noise. After about 5 minutes of excruciating pain, it was over. I learned the spell 'Dark Press'.

I learned something after this. 'Gravity Magic' isn't magic that manipulates gravity. It is a type of magic that can make mana imitate gravitational force. The spell 'Dark Press' basically makes the mana in the surroundings of the target flow towards the ground. This flow of mana exerts force onto the target and make the target's Weight higher than normal. The spell's sigil is very complex and involves a lot of intricate patterns and loops. But what the sigil basically does is that it makes the mana surrounding the target flow towards the ground. The 'Guide' mentioned that this magic would be complex and difficult to use, but also very powerful. I can understand the magic Sigil and the formulas behind it because it follows the principals of Gravity, and I have already learnt all of that on Earth.

In short, I can cast the spell with relative ease, and still enjoy the immense power of the spell. "huhu... This can actually become my trump card... if I use this right, I'll become very strong very quickly...", I was excited about the new power I just got.
