A Dungeon Already?!

It was now dark. The sun had set, and the entire environment became colder. The only light source was the fire I lit and the moon. I didn't want to sleep in the open, as I don't know what kind of monsters or beasts might inhabit this world.

I got up from my resting spot and tried to look around for a place to sleep in.

"The moon is so big and bright... the whole sky is covered with stars...", The stunningly beautiful night sky took me by surprise. I had never even properly seen Earth's night sky before... It was truly a sublime scenery and moment.

I found a pretty good spot after walking down the stream for a few minutes. It was a strangely shaped hollow inside a small cliff.

I entered the hollow cave non-chalantly and looked around. "shit... I should've learnt some fire magic if I knew it was gonna be like this..."

The cave's entrance was illuminated by the moonlight. But the rest of the cave looked completely dark. "Maybe I can use Electrocute to produce a little light? It should work...", I tried to come up with ideas to make my situation a little better.

I casted the spell 'Electrocute' on just my index finger, creating a small and continuous spark. The light from the Electricity was enough to illuminate most of my surroundings.

But something was odd. This cave... had no back wall... Instead, it kept continuing...

"That's odd... was this not just a cave?", I asked myself as I broke into a cold sweat.

"Query! Where am I?"

[Query Received!]

[Required FP: 0]

[Answer To Query: You care currently standing at the entrance of the dungeon 'Ant Queen's Nest'. Most of the monsters in this dungeon are arthropods like ants and centipedes. The difficulty of this dungeon is 'Hard'.]

"SHIT! A DUNGEON?!?", I accidentally shouted. That was a very big mistake, because as soon as I looked back at the dungeon, I could see many red dots. They were Ants. Big ants. Maybe as big as a beer fridge? anyways, there were a lot of them and a few of me, and by that, i mean that they completely outnumbered me.

"F*CK! SHIT! C*NT! BALLS! GODDMANIT!", I started swearing and running away from the horde of ants. But then it hit me. I can use magic. Big or not, they were bugs at the end of the day. Maybe electrocuting them would work?

"Electrocute!", I casted the spell with my whole palm, which was my current limit, towards the horde of ants. The sparks were bright enough to see what was in front of me. There were at least 50 ants chasing me. That spell only took care of about 6 of them.

"SHIT! no good... I gotta use something grander... maybe... Ah! that might work!", I got an idea. Although I wasn't quite sure if it would work or not, but I had to give it a try.

"Rock Wall! Rock Wall! Rock Wall! Rock Wall! Rock Wall!", I kept spamming 'Rock Wall' in front of me, to make something like a pillar. I jumped on top of the pillar, which was tall enough for me to climb, but not tall enough for the ants. But this wouldn't hold them off for long.

"Rock Wall! Rock Wall! Rock Wall!", I started to create an even taller pillar on top of the pillar I was standing on. I climbed on. But there was something I forgot... Mana Consumption. I had used 'Rock Wall' 10 times in a row now... I've probably used a lot of my mana... "Mana Bar!"

[Mana: 20/100]

"good... I've still got some juice left...", but there was no moment to feel relieved. The ants were slow, but they started to figure out that they can climb the pillars.

"ELECTROCUTE!", I shouted with all my might. I constructed 2 sigils on both of my palms. One sigil created a positive electrode, and the other created a negative one. I charged them up to the fullest and joined the thin and invisible mana wire to the two and made sure to lay the wire all over the ant's horde too.

A giant spark materialized in my arms and the sparks soon unleashed themselves onto the ants. The sparks lasted for 5 seconds... but that was enough. The light was so bright, it was like I got flash banged.

After that, the cave became silent. I had lost all of my mana. I became dizzy all of a sudden. I almost fell from the pillar and landed on my head... that could've very well killed me...

"This must... be what... mana deprivation... feels like...", I was having trouble breathing. I needed to replenish my mana as soon as possible. If I fall asleep in this cave, or I guess 'Dungeon', there's no guarantee that I won't become ant food.

[Difficult Task Accomplished!]

[Task level: 25]

[Reward: 250 FP]

[Total FP: 260]

"kekeke... nice... thanks 'Guide'...", I completely forgot about the FP system... I need to look up how I can quickly replenish mana.

An Introduction of how the combat will work in this novel. I hope you enjoy this type of combat over just spamming the same spells over and over, or using some overpowered spell to wipe out hordes of enemies. (I guess this chapter had both of those...), But you know what I mean. I want to make the mc think and struggle to find an answer, i want him to be smart and win battles with intellect and not just plot armour
