Grayson's head feels like it's splitting in two. That's the only thought that comes to his head as he regains consciousness. He's bound, a rope tying his arms to the sides. He's able to right himself, sitting on his knees and taking in his surroundings.
His eyes take far too long to come to focus, but when they do, Grayson still can barely see. When he looks down he can see what looks like the forest floor, but there are no ambient sounds. It's silent.
He looks up to see the bright moon and the canopy of trees above him. Something about this area is deeply…unsettling.
"You're awake." Grayson knows that voice, he whips his head around to look for the source.
"Easy there, Mr. Carter. Try not to hurt yourself more than you already have." The voice is smooth, calm.
"Show yourself." Grayson hisses.
"Very well, then." A figure appears from the shadows.
