Arya twitched his eye brows in suspicion. He kept walking, and still felt someone was following him. He no longer thought over it and swiftly turned back to see if there was someone. In the city of Volis, citizens often felt this phenomenon, as if someone followed them. It was declared by the priests of the city, that the dwellers must not pay heed to such feeling and never turn back to check upon the follower.
The question then, was why did Arya turn back? How is he so confident and bold even when it came to talking about the Evil loudly, in the crowd. These were questions which that follower of Arya was having. Who was that follower? It was Maya.
"Stalking me?" asked Arya and then smirked.
"Why did you turn back? Don't you know.. " Maya was interrupted by Arya who quickly resonded, "I know, know it all."
"But, I need to know somethings about you. Firstly, if you know that turning back could be dangerous, why did you do it? " Inquired Maya.
She then kept on asking all the questions, one by one, whatever she had. Arya stood there, patiently. She finally asked him, "Why did you say that it will remain above and not be able to touch us?"
"Curiosity is a sign of intelligence and she surely is one." Arya murmured.
"Did you say something?"Maya asked.
" Nope! Just that I can't answer you! " Arya, who was noticeably hesitant, responded.
Maya twitched her eyebrows in suspicion. But then she said, "It's okay. I respect your privacy."
She pulled her hair back, behind her ears and left.
Arya kept staring at her leaving for a few seconds and then started walking towards the stall. He reached the stall and found Wini sad.
"What is it?" Arya asked Wini. Teary eyed Wini replied, "They're asking me to join immediately, the competition. The Boss is seriously ill and has been hospitalised." Arya gently hugged her saying, "That's what you are meant to do, support your boss and his company in need."
"But, I don't want to leave before your marriage."
Arya huffs. He slowly moves away from Wini and puts his hands in his pocket.
"Besides, if I go now, who will look after Mom. You never stay in this world… right Mom?..Oh she has gone to the washroom"
"But, it's been quite some time now, Ay" said Uncle Morris in a worried tone.
"Actually, I will just go and check" Wini left to look for Stella.
"My boy, Wini will join the company soon. I want you to join The Social Welfare Trust in the city. Just join as a volunteer for now, eventually they will make you one of the board members." Morris told Arya. Arya gulped. His face was cleary showing uncertainty.
"Doubts should never be fed but conquered." Morris reassured him. He further told, "If you join now, they will pay you good money as you are a young blood and can serve more. This will help your family. Help your mother son!"
"Alright uncle, I.. " Arya couldn't complete and saw Wini coming towards them holding Stella, who seemed unconscious. Arya ran towards her and lifted one of the arms of Stella.
"What happened?" Arya asked.
"Oh dear! " Morris exclaimed in concern.
"She felt unconscious on the washroom floor" Wini revealed. "I have seeked volunteers and they have dialled an ambulance" Wini said.
After a few minutes, the ambulance arrived and the family left for hospital. On reaching the hospital, the doctors checked Stella and declared that she was having a very low blood pressure. "The patient needs strict bed rest till the next week." The doctor said.
"The fest?" Arya thought.
Wini was crying holding Stella's hand. "No matter what she says, she is weak. No matter however she pretends, she isn't that strong anymore." Wini said while crying.
"Who will look after her now, as I leave?" She continued sobbing.
Mr. Morris looks at Arya with hopeful eyes."As I was telling earlier son, help your mother." Morris said. He walked closer to Stella's bed and said, "Get married as soon as possible, Arya!"
Wini lifted her face and rubbed her eyes as she heard Uncle Morris. She nodded her head in agreement.
"So when are we beginning the arrangements?" Arya asked with a gentle smile on his face. The stress lines on Mr. Morris's forehead immediately vanished. Wini stood up in happiness. Stella remained unconscious in the bed. Her physical weakness had now indirectly acted as a catalyst to get her son married sooner.
