“Brax, I am yours. I don’t need you to put a ring on my finger. We are mates. By Earth’s customs, we are engaged. When we complete the third melding phase, that will be like a marriage. This public ceremony is for Arcturia and other warriors and the program. I do not need any of it, but I think Arcturia might. Appearances are important on Earth. I think they might be important for ICUS too.” Parker turns in Brax’s lap, straddling his hips, and claims Brax’s lips.
“Mine?” All Brax hears is Parker agreeing that she is his.
Without another word, Brax stands up, holding Parker next to his body, and marches straight out the door to his quarters.
