"…before I kill you"

When those words slipped out of Fern's mouth, the shadowy blades around him lunged forward and pierced his body. As it spasmed, a twisted smile lingered on his face, and limbs jerked as the light left his eyes.

And finally, his body slumped lifeless in the seat beside Ranulf.

For a brief moment, Ranulf narrowed his eyes as he watched him in silence. All of Fern's vitals had been pierced, including his head. But as much as he wanted to believe it was over. 

His gut told him otherwise.

Fern Kael Akerman wasn't like the riff-raff he'd faced in the past. He was a Phoenix Rank for a reason, an attack like that wouldn't be enough to kill even Ranulf himself so naturally that went double for him.

Ranulf's suspicion turned into certainty, and he sneered.

"Enough games Akerman. Show yourself"

He waited for a bit and there was no reply.
