Part 2: Partner's, saving the world?

This bastard. I can't wait to leave him. "Please tell me your name! You've helped me and I would like to help you sometime in the future as well." He says.

I keep facing away from him and says, "May." And after that, I silently walk away from him. Why did I tell him my damn name? EH? He'll probably forget it after a while. I head to the tavern to get a few drinks and chill while I'm here. As I walk in the smell of alcohol raises to my nose and I scrunch up my face in disgust. 'Why do people need to drink alcoholic drinks when you can get a mission and drink some orange juice.' I walk up to the bartender and ask for an orange juice. Once I got my orange juice I looked at the type of missions there where to go on. Once I found one I headed back to the bartender to hand him the mission I wish to partake in.

Once he checked out the mission I left the tavern with a few orange juices for home. Yawning I headed to the castle but something didn't feel right. I brushed it off for now and headed to my room in the castle. I checked in through the gate but once I got to the front doors of the castle I was shoved away by guards that I didn't recognize. I know every guard in the castle because I trained them I got to know every one of them. I even became the appointed knight to the Queen. I've gotten close to the queen, she's my best friend, that I have given her a nickname. But since I didn't know this guy and he didn't know who I was from uniform, he must be someone I need to have a conversation about the rules.

"Who are you and who sent you here to guard the gates?" I face him with a stern glare ready to hear the culprit.

"My dear, who are you? My King has put me in charge here."

'what the Queen hasn't had a love interest and neither did she want one. What is going on.' "There is no King in this Kingdom just the Queen?" he looks at me as I'm some stupid piece of meat and put his saber in front of me ready to fight.

"And there is no Queen. Only My king, Todd!" His grin is sickening, with his pointy teeth and pale yellow skin. He has bright yellow eyes with a hint of green in the center. His figure is lean and tall. The uniform that the guards wear in Azure Empire is blue with white trimming and hues of gold in the fabric to signify the Azure Royal guard. And this particular guard did not have that. He wore a baby blue with black trimming with silver hues in the fabric. After taking in his uniform I also drew my sword and had it ready to fight the 'place guard'.

"You, ready little bird?" the man questions staring at my small form. I don't answer as I try to find the weak points in his stance. After a while, I started to say something but a particular stranger happened to cut me off.

"She's not. Because you're fighting me." said a brown curly-haired man as he popped into the guards' vision and she stepped back in surprise. She was capable of protecting herself but apparently, this brown Curly man couldn't stand watching this woman fight this guard.

"Excuse me I can defend myself an idiot."

"Well, I'm sorry beautiful I'm going to help you."

"Stop talking and fight!"

The male guard that was blocking the gate charged in at May, they blocked each other's attacks, left and right. May observed how his attacks were slow in comparison to how she trained her guards. And once the guard, who guarded the gate into the castle, swung his sword over his head she stabbed him near the heart before he could dodge the attack. He stumbled backward into the gate clutching his chest.

A gasp was heard and EKO ran up to May picked her up and booked it to the other side of the city. Once he made a good distance away from the castle he checked her for injuries. She shook him off of her.

"Don't touch me."

"Fine, I won't help you if you're in trouble."

"Fine with me."

'This beautiful idiot.' he thought.

"Well, we should go. They might be looking for us as we speak."

May nodded her head in understanding and walked away towards the bar. As she walked away from him, he decided to follow the young guard. He asked her where she was going and she never replied and so he kept asking questions till they made it to a bar she was at earlier.

"So, uh what are we going to do about the guards and the queen?" he asks as May turns around to face him. She takes a minute and stares coldly at him. He shivers under her icy glare and slowly backs away.

"I-I don't know. But I'm going to do it without you that's for sure." May says as she walks away from him to get an orange juice from the bartender. A voice calls out to May and he's quite short for a guy but he's quite sweet in regards to his ladies. He's not quite the brightest guy when it comes to women since he likes no drama but that's just what he says May thinks otherwise though. His dark brown hair and slightly muscular figure stand out but he has this air about him that EKO just hates, the way he saunters up to May, how he looks at her with those eyes, gives EKO throbbing jealousy and hatred towards this guy.

"MAY!"

"Gabriel? What are you doing here?"

"To drink, duh."

"Obviously," says May as she slowly walks away from the guy. But Gabriel keeps insisting on talking with the young guard. Gabriel has his eyes all over May. like he just can't get enough of her.

"May, can we talk. And may I also offer you 'a dance' as we talk." Gabriel says as he stares at EKO. The short muscular man holds out his hand for the young warrior to take. She hesitantly takes his hand and he pulls her by the waist and starts dancing with her.

"May, I've been meaning to tell you that I want you back, and I'm sorry for what I've done to you." he looks at her to what looks like earnestness.

"I don't know Gabriel. You kinda-broke my heart. What makes you think I'll 'actually' get back with you?" I question him and his sanity. I gently back away from his hold so we're not dancing closer than need be.

"May, I love you. More than you know." He said pleadingly. He then proceeds to push me closer by the waist. As we continued to talk about our past I felt as if someone was glaring in our direction.

"Well, I don't believe you. You messed with me and decided to move on like I didn't exist." I finally pushed him off me and towards the bar to get me a drink of water. But Gabriel had other plans and grabbed my arm and forcefully brought me into a kiss. Before I could push him off of me someone had broken up the connection Gabriel had forced upon me.

"GET THE HELL OFF OF HER!!!"

" Who the hell are you to say something like that?"

"I'm her friend!"

"Okay, so what I'm her boyfriend?"

EKO's face was bubbling red with anger and walked towards me and Gabriel. Once he got close enough he yanked me out of Gabriel's arms and into his. I pushed out of his grasp and walked away from the two blubbering idiots. 'I can't believe I used to date an asshole.' I walk near the bartender and take a seat near the corner of the bar. The bar counter was beautiful. It had these purple and blue swirls with golden flecks on the counter. The dim light couldn't do its justice.

"Oi! May, I have defeated the-"

"No, you haven't. You damn idiot."

"Excuse me? But I knocked you out."

"You got me dizzy, that doesn't count for making me 'knocked out'."

"Okay asshole."

"Who the hell are you calling an asshole, motherfucker!?"

I sigh in exasperation as the two bickered, trying to show off how strong and masculine they are in front of me. They kept hitting each other like little children, you would've thought they were fighting. But they got out of control and now it seems like Gabriel is about to his magic on EKO. I walk up to the two idiots and slam both of their skulls together and Gabriel gets knocked out and EKO gets slightly dizzy and falls on top of Gabriel, to which I left them be and walked out of the bar. Then the two boys burst out of the bar and EKO dodges the arrow fist that Gabriel has thrown his way and so forth the fight continues and after they decided to 'stop and rest' they start to corner me and Gabriel tries to grab me as I dodge and take his arm and throw him across the street. EKO loudly announces that he is fine and walks over to me and checks for any sign of injury and I quickly push him away.

"There is no need." as I cough " Are you okay? You took quite the beating."

"Nah, I'm fine. Also, are you thirsty?" he asks with a gentle smile, I don't quite understand how he can become quite this ruthless and yet be gentlemen the next. I shake my head no and walk from him. But he proceeds to follow me anyway. 'I'm going to search for my friend and see if I can get some answers as to why the Queen is gone. If the Queen is gone the Kingdom as I know it won't exist anymore.' I hurriedly walked to the closest Inn. The Inn was called the Phosphorus Inn. It looked like a mansion with Ivory window frames. It wasn't the prettiest Inn on the outside. I walked down the stone pathway and up the slightly dirty white painted stairs up to the french doors.

After walking through the doors a few chairs were up against the right side of the wall with a painting of nature. The walls in the room are dark cherry wood flaked with gold in the walls. Two doors hidden in the walls open from each side of the room heading to the right is the cafe, left are rooms and the back also rows of rooms. At the end of the hallways, they have a staircase leading to each floor of the building. I walk up two the front desk in the middle of the room where a middle-aged man stood.

"Hello, sir." I nodded my head in greeting. The middle-aged man nodded to me and handed me a room number and key.

"Hey, there is no need for you to be so formal with me Miss. May." he taunted, he looked at me like a child who should behave.

"Yes, sir. Taz-I-mean Taz." Stumbling over my words I hear Old Taz laughing at my correction.

"Oh, dearie. You need to get out more. You always work too hard." he walked up to me and patted my back and walked to the back wall where the hidden door is.

"This way to your room, May," he commented. I nodded my head and followed him. We went to my room. ' I told him he didn't need to save this room for me every time I come here.'

"Taz, there is no-"

"Miss. May, you are the favorite-precious person I know and you stay here for free. Don't you dare bring your purse to me to pay for rent I know you'll leave in the morning." he says passionately as he pushes me into my room without waiting for a reply and shuts the door. I look around the room and realize that he decorated it similar to my own home in Dragonfly City. It's a relatively good size room with blue painted walls with seashells, jellyfish, and bubbles decorated on them. A twin size bed with white sheets and a blue cover with jellyfish covering them. White vanity with an oval mirror with silver lining around it. And cold dark wood floors with a big light blue rug in the middle of the room.

The window right next to the white vanity had plan white curtains with blinds to cover up the window. I turn to the left and the bathroom is there. I turn towards it and quickly take my clothes off and hop into the shower to think. After a good soil hour, I get dressed and plop into bed finally to be able to go to bed and rest.

After five minutes a knock is heard at the door. I groan in distaste and clammer out of my warm and velvety bed I open the door to see EKO who is drenched with sweat. He takes a few heavy breaths before talking.

"May! I found you. I need to tell you something. Guards they are looking for you and-" I quickly cut him off by slamming the door and heading back to bed. But he insisted on keeping knocking on my door like a crazy wild animal. I quickly open the door in anger.

"Stop! I'm trying to sleep and I don't need you to come to follow me everywhere I go, you nitwit." I yelled at him and closed the door but before I could he stopped the door with his foot.

"I don't think so sweetheart." he paused as I slowly opened the door back up.

" What do you want, Curly?"

"I want to travel together. To help you bring your Queen back." he puffs out his chest as if he has already won me over.

"No." I start to close the door and he stops me again. 'What the hell is wrong with this guy? I just want to sleep.'
