I gazed at Jayden and simply said, "Thank you for your help." Jayden responded with a nod.
Damn, this is awkward. Considering I almost killed him, his helping me was a miracle. If I was Jayden, I would feel betrayed and become petty. I'm glad he was not me.
But, now let's focus on keeping Bella safe. I lowered her from my back and instructed, "Run as far as you can from this cube."
"But, how about you?" Bella's trembling voice held a hint of concern.
"I'm fine. I'll be with you once the monster is defeated." I reassured her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. After that, she sprinted toward another cube nearby.
Armed with my shoulder missile launcher, I aimed at the relentless monster. Yet, it skillfully dodged my projectiles. I needed assistance to divert its attention.
