Apocalypse: Rising of Chaos

*WPC OCTOBER 2023 - ENTRY* Apocalypse. A simple yet complicated word. Why? Because no one experienced it before, and also couldn't even begin to imagine what would happen during an Apocalypse. While this was true for most people, Rael actually enjoyed the situation. Held as a prisoner for years, living worse than stray cats or dogs, Rael was finally released from the torture he had to go through everyday. What would he do now that the shackles who once stopped him from moving were gone? His composure all faded away as soon as he heard something he never expected to hear. "Congratulations humans all over the world! Planet RF-B55677, or Earth as you know it, was finally given access to the real universe!" "Brace yourselves for the impact caused by mana infiltrating the atmosphere. In 3, 2, 1..." In a new world completely different from the one Rael knew a few years ago, what would his distorted personality do? After he was betrayed by people he once considered close to him, what should he do? Would he try and unite humanity to go against a common enemy? Or... Would he destroy everything that was once familiar to him to get his revenge? ——— This novel won't be everyone's cup of tea, so if you don't like a psychopath MC(in the beginning), and wouldn't wait for his 'behaviour' to be fixed, then don't read it. It's a dark story with a slow pacing in the beginning, but don't worry, it would get faster after a while. Some of you may hate it, and the others would enjoy the simple things like: Character growth and development, world building, system, level up, and the versatile skills received by our protagonist. https://discord.com/invite/uS2mPjZv65 Cover generated by AI.

Rael took a deep breath, knowing that his plan had to be executed swiftly and silently. With his high Agility and Perception, he was confident in his ability to approach the guards undetected.

Carefully, he pushed the door open just enough to slip inside the room. It was dimly lit, with scattered crates and equipment. The guards were huddled together, their backs turned to him as they continued their hushed conversation.

Rael crept closer, his sword at the ready. As he got within striking distance, he prepared himself to take them down swiftly and silently. He couldn't afford to give them a chance to react.

But then, he remembered the young man who had spoken earlier. Rael had a different plan for him. Instead of killing him outright, he decided to incapacitate the guards first and use the young man as leverage.

With a quick and precise motion, Rael swung his sword at the nearest guard's throat, silencing him instantly. Blood sprayed across the room, and the other guards turned in shock.

Before they could react, Rael lunged at the next guard, knocking him to the ground with a powerful strike to the head. The remaining guards finally reached for their weapons, but Rael's speed and agility were unmatched. He dodged their desperate swings and strikes, disarming them one by one.

Now, with all the guards incapacitated and disarmed, Rael turned his attention to the young man who had spoken earlier. He could see fear in the young man's eyes as he realized he was the last one standing.

Rael approached him, keeping his sword ready but not immediately threatening. "You," he said firmly, "Tell me everything you know about this place, the guards, and what's been happening here. I might spare your life if you cooperate."

The young man, trembling, began to spill the information about the guards, their leader Donovan, and the situation in the prison. Rael listened carefully, gathering valuable insights about the ongoing chaos.

As the young man continued talking, Rael couldn't help but think that this encounter might be more beneficial than he had initially anticipated. He might have just gained an insider's perspective on the prison's dynamics and secrets.

But he knew he had to be cautious. The young man's fate would depend on the usefulness of the information he provided and whether Rael could trust him.

Rael kept a cool composure as the young man spilled the details about Donovan and the guards. He made mental notes of everything, nodding as if he was genuinely interested. His eyes darted toward Maria's hiding place, just to ensure she wasn't listening in on the conversation.

When the young man finished sharing what he knew, Rael wore a thoughtful expression. "Thanks for the information," he said, feigning gratitude. "Listen, I saved you from a group of zombies out there, and you owe me for that. Don't think of double-crossing me."

The young man, still trembling, nodded vigorously. "I won't! I, Ron, owe you my life, man."

Rael smirked. "Good, you're smart. Now, I need to check on my friend Maria. She's hiding from the zombies too. You stay here and keep quiet. If you make a sound or try anything funny, I won't hesitate to finish what I started."

With those ominous words, Rael backed away from the young man and exited the room, making sure to close the door behind him. He knew he had to keep up the act for Maria's sake, at least for now.

Once outside, Rael quickly located Maria. She looked relieved to see him. "Is everything okay?" she asked, her eyes filled with worry.

Rael nodded, maintaining his façade. "Yeah, I managed to save a guy, Ron, from some zombies. He's safe for now. We should keep moving and find a way out of here."

Maria sighed in relief. "Thank you, Rael. You're amazing. Let's go take this guy and get out of this place."

As they continued their journey deeper into the prison, Rael's mind was consumed with thoughts of Donovan and the other guards. He knew that eliminating them was the key to gaining control over the situation and securing their escape.

But he also knew he had to keep his true intentions hidden from Maria, at least until the right moment. For now, he would play the role of the hero, all while plotting his revenge against those who had threatened his life in the past.

As Rael, Ron, and Maria continued their journey through the prison, Rael couldn't help but feel the weight of his deception. He had convinced Maria and Ron that he was their savior, all the while harboring his true intentions to confront Donovan and the guards.

The prison's corridors were dark and eerie, with sporadic emergency lights casting long shadows. The faint sounds of shuffling and growls echoed from the depths of the facility, a constant reminder of the lurking danger.

"We need to find Donovan and the guards," Rael said, trying to sound determined. "They might have information about an escape plan. Let's act like we're here to help them, gain their trust, and then, when the time is right..."

Maria finished his sentence, her voice low, "We are going to take advantage of the situation."

Rael was a bit surprised, for a reason, he thought that Maria was aware that he was a bad guy, but he quickly shook his head.

'It's impossible, I always kept my cool and acted like a good person…well there was the thing with Matthew, but it couldn't be…'

Ron, who was still processing the situation, nodded in agreement. "It's risky, but if it's our best chance to get out of here alive, then we have to do it."

They continued to move cautiously through the prison, encountering sporadic groups of zombies along the way. Rael, using his heightened Agility and Perception, led the group in stealthily avoiding most of them. He only engaged when necessary, dispatching the undead with swift and silent strikes.

His plan also included helping Maria and Ron get a bit stronger, so they could prove themselves to be good allies in the future.

As they moved deeper into the facility, they began to hear faint voices and footsteps. The sounds grew louder, indicating that they were getting closer to Donovan and the guards. Rael knew they had to approach cautiously, as they had no idea what kind of defenses the guards might have set up.

Finally, they reached a large chamber where the voices were coming from. Through a cracked door, they could see Donovan and several guards gathered around a makeshift table, studying maps and discussing their plans.

There were a total of more than fifty guards in the gymnasium.

Rael whispered to Maria and Ron, "Stay here and keep quiet. I'll go in first and try to talk to them. If things go south, be ready to move."
