This rural self-paved road, with sections of cement and dirt, was now overgrown with weeds, making it hard to walk on.

Looking up, they could see a courtyard surrounded by red brick walls and a blue-roofed iron shack.

The sound of zombies growling echoed, and two zombies climbed over the red brick wall from one side.

With two loud thuds, they fell to the ground. Before they could stand up, the skeletons quickly rushed over and chopped them down.

They reached the courtyard outside the warehouse. The black iron gate was locked with chains and a padlock.

"Break it open!" Wu Heng ordered.

Two orc skeleton warriors stepped forward, swung their battle axes, and struck the gate.

The deafening sound of metal being struck instantly echoed throughout the area.

At the same time, growls echoed from the surroundings. Over a dozen zombies emerged from nearby homes and alleys, moving toward them.

The female doctor rolled her eyes at the two. In the apocalypse, no need for arranged marriages anymore.

But now she had to watch these two show off their affection.

The sharp sound of heavy blows came from outside.

The group shuddered, the female student jumped back into the woman's arms, and the boy moved closer, his face pale.

All three remained silent, even their breathing slowed down.

The boy picked up a nearby plank and said, "If they find us, I'll fight them to the death."

"Alright, just take a look from a distance. If it's the rescue team, we'll go out. If it's Yang Yitian or someone else, come back quickly," the doctor instructed.

The boy tightened his clothes, carefully pushed open the cellar door.

After making sure there were no zombies or people around, he crawled out of the cellar and moved toward the source of the noise.

Outside the warehouse.

After five or six swings from the orc skeletons, the padlock broke with a crack, and the chains fell to the ground.

The black iron gate was pushed open.

A large courtyard was revealed.

Grass had grown waist-high, and inside the courtyard were small trucks, tricycles, and equipment resembling cranes.

Opposite them was the blue-roofed iron building.

The warehouse still had a door, not the chain type but a large swing door with a concealed lock.

This lock wouldn't be as easy to break.

Wu Heng released Xiaoxiao and said, "Xiaoxiao, go check if there's any danger inside the warehouse."

Xiaoxiao passed through the wall and entered the warehouse directly.

She quickly flew back, "No monsters, just some iron and stuff."

"Alright, fly around the area, and notify me if there's any danger."

"Got it." Xiaoxiao flew into the air and headed toward one side.

Wu Heng stood in the courtyard and first checked the iron gate.

Then he tried opening it.

He said, "This door isn't easy to deal with. Go check if the small truck and forklift are still operational."

Li Yanhong responded and went to check the vehicles in the courtyard.

Wu Heng quickly took out the bronze key, inserted it into the lock, and after unlocking it, had the skeletons open the door.

Soon, Li Yanhong returned.

She saw the fully opened door and asked, "How did you open it?"

"It wasn't locked. A skeleton just pulled it open."

The warehouse was spacious. Besides the central path, both sides were piled with large amounts of iron pipes, electrical wires, and various tools.

Li Yanhong's face lit up with joy, "Everything we need is here. It's enough to last us for a while."

The two left the warehouse, and Wu Heng had the skeletons close the warehouse door slightly, leaving a gap.

A survivor?

"Where did they go?" Wu Heng asked.

"They ran off, but I know where they went."

"I'll let you watch cartoons later. Take us to where they're hiding," Wu Heng said directly.
