Jin Hua looked at her dumbfounded.

He had never told his sister about those ability thingies but now his sister knows oh so well about those abilities.

"I thought you were an ordinary human?!"

You know who said this, Hua Meili rolled her eyes but still maintained her sage look.

'Uhm.... Did they just forget the things that I was explaining before about Phase 1 and the Evolutionary Human thingy before they went out? If I didn't know anything, then where in the world would I get such a detailed explanation from..... (-.-|||)'

Hua Meili could not help but lament how stupid those people could be. It is really a wonder how they survived this far in the Apocalypse.

Oh, right.

Idiotic people survive longer than smart ones.

There had always been that saying, "If you are too smart, you will die early."

So, this means that idiotic people survive longer, right?

Or maybe they die together?

"Are you also an evolutionary human?" Mingque Shui asked trying to gouge out what she knew.

She had been too abnormal from the start.

She knew things that even they did not know about so it would really be unbelievable if she was just an ordinary human.

"What do you think?"

Hua Meili playfully smiled.

"Tell us, what is your ability?" Gao Hou excitedly asked.

He wanted to know what she is capable of doing.

It is really a feast for the eyes to see another person's special abilities because each one of their abilities has its own unique traits.

Even when they have the same ability, there is still that uniqueness in each of their abilities.

With curiosity visible in their eyes, they waited with bated breath.

Seeing their curiosity almost overflowing out of their eyes, Hua Meili's eyes creased as she playfully grin at them.

"Hmm.... that's a secret, for now."

"Not fair!!" Yu Feng whined.

"Everything in this world is not fair. Now, can you tell me why you are having a hard time against a Phase 1 Mutant?"

Hua Meili rolled her eyes and went back to the topic.

"As I said before, they were stronger than us physically. We can only fight them equally with guns but the sound of the gun attracts Mutants to our location so we only use it when the situation is dire." Jin Hua explained.

"How about your abilities?"

"Well... are ability is still so weak and could not be used against the Mutants." Jin Hua produced a shard of ice as big as an adult fist.

His shard of ice was very different from Hua Meili's ice shard.

If her ice shard look like glass, his ice shard looked like that of a compressed snow.

Hers is transparent while his is opaque.

The difference between their ability is really visible just seeing the uniqueness of each of their own abilities.

Looking at the ice shard that looked like compressed snow, Hua Meili nod her head satisfied.

'Woah, that's better than I imagined. Since an ordinary Phase 1 can't produce a shard that big and powerful in their current level.'

"You're an ice ability user!"

Hua Meili was filled with glee thinking that they really match each other.

She was an ice ability user and he is too!

"Yes." Jin Hua smiled seeing how happy his sister is.

"What about the others?"

Hua Meili looked at the others with curiosity. She also wanted to know their abilities.

"Well, I am a fire ability user."

Gao Hou produced a small ball of fire the same size as a baby's fist, he proudly wave it around.

"Same here."

Lian Pian also produces a ball of fire like Gao Hou but a little smaller.

"Water..."

Mingque Shui produces a ball of water as big as a baby's fist.

"Earth..." Yu Diqiu said.

"Wind..."

Yu Feng made a small shift in the wind direction.

"Not bad."

All the element groups are complete in this team.

"How about you and your subordinates? Since we showed you our powers it's only fair for you and your subordinates to show yours, right!" Lian Pian said.

Even though Hua Meili wanted to kick and punch and smash, and scrub her face on the floor she only flashed her a smile.

But if one looks closely, the smile does not reach her eyes and even had a hint of murderous intent behind it which was noticed by everyone except Lian Pian.

"It's a secret!" Hua Meili said happily but everyone could tell that it was a smile of a Demon, they could not help but shiver.

Boss and her sister are really alike! A Demon brother can never have an Angelic sister! A Demon can only have a Demon as a relative! Everyone in Jin's group thought in their mind.

Everyone looked at Lian Pian, they looked at her pitifully and the obvious schemes she was doing since the very first time they met.

They didn't tell her off since she did nothing to them and didn't cross their bottom line so there was no conflict but they didn't know why, why she started acting up upon coming here.

Jin Hua also noticed her little schemes and actions but didn't tell her off since she never did anything wrong but time and time again, she was going against his sister.

He was going to talk to her but when he saw Hua Meili's attitude toward her, he decided not to interfere.

Seeing his new sister who suddenly changed after the Apocalypse, he knew that going against her now will not be easy.

He is not blind to not notice the obvious changes within his sister during the time that they had spent together.

After all, he is her brother.

Other people might get scared if they were in his shoes because they could no longer recognize the person that they knew but for him, this was for the best because this way, his sister could protect herself more.

He no longer needed to worry about his sister being too kind because now she can protect herself.

She no longer needed someone to protect her…even him.

The others upon noticing that the kind and easy-going girl was not really that easy after all, could not help but wonder what kind of future would it be if they followed her.

After breakfast, everyone run off their seat as if chased by craze rabid dogs.

Hua Meili looked at them with amusement, she grabbed Jin Hua and walked to the gardens.

They took a seat under the plum blossoms, their leaves shielding them from the sun.

"So, when will you go?"

Hua Meili speaks out breaking the beautiful silence surrounding the both of them.

Jin Hua did not answer immediately.

He looked at her and took the leaves stuck in her hair first before answering.

"After launch. And, we would not be going back tonight for dinner so don't wait for us."

"So, when will you come back?"

Hua Meili leaned her head on his shoulders, she had a faraway look.

Her thoughts kept on circling about the villain's future that had already been set in stone.

The days of hardship are already near and she does not know if she would be able to stop it or not.

"Hmm... 2 or 3 days I guess."

Jin Hua pats her head, maybe, as a sort of reassurance and comfort for her.

"That long? You should be careful when you're out there and come back safe or else I won't let you go again. You must bring Hexi with you."

Thinking about the unknown dangers in that big city that even she does not know, Hua Meili insisted that he must bring Du Hexi with him.

With one of her Black Shadows accompanying him, she would be certain that he would be out of harm's way.

"Alright. I will be careful and I will come back safe. Also, I'll bring Hexi with me."

Jin Hua readily agreed to her request and continued patting her hair. He seemed really happy toying with her hair.

Watching him smile so happily, she just let him keep on messing with her hair.

As long as he is happy, it's fine.

"Gege, be safe!"

Hua Meili waved at Jin Hua who was riding the WC away from the mansion and out of her sight.

Sigh....

Changing into her combat clothes and wearing her mask, she was ready to go on another adventure!

Thinking that she had already lazed enough for a few days, she decided to go out to breath some fresh air and kill some Mutants on the way.

It had already been a while since she got out and she felt that she was getting rusty after lazing around.

If she still does not go out and have some fun, she might really become a pig!

Lazing around is really addicting ah!

"Xiao Mei, let us go with you!"

Guo Zhongcheng got up on the sofa when he saw Hua Meili descending the stairs in her combat clothes.

He knew that she will once again secretly go out and he very much wanted to come with her but he gets rejected every time he asks her.

"Why do you keep sneaking out? Why don't you just go with Jin?" Zhongcheng Qingren said helplessly.

He really does not know what is inside her head.

If she wanted to go outside then she should have gone out with her brother but she just had to sneak out all by herself.

Not like he is worried about her but more like she looked so dumb right now in his eyes.

"Haha... That's no fun and besides, I'm still wary and observing the others. If I tell them about my abilities, they surely would look up to me and will also be wary of me. But if I stay low, they would easily reveal their true colors, and when that happens therein for a big surprise!"

Hua Meili tied her hair up in a ponytail and was set to go.

"Well, can we at least go with you on your adventure..." Guo Zhongcheng wryly said.

He had been cooped up for far too long in this Mansion that he longed to be free, it's not like he is being imprisoned here though.

But that is not the point!

The point is that, after being ordered to lay low, he had been lying low all this time to the point that he felt so suffocated staying in the Mansion.

He really wanted to go outside to take a stroll but if he did, he won't be able to stay low.

"No, you two stay here. I'll be fine, no need to worry, and besides you, two need to meditate. Use this time to absorb the energy of the crystal. You still have not finished all of them, right?"

"Speaking of ZC, why did you not tell the others? It could have helped improve their physics too." Zhongcheng Qingren asked raising his eyebrows.

He knew that she is wary about the others but why would she keep it from her brother too?

He really does not understand her complicated brain and ways.

If he really does try to understand her, he will be the one on the short end of the stick since her thoughts are too deep and complicated.

He will be only stressing himself out if he thinks so deeply.

"Hehe... those secrets can only be said to the people you trust most. If some people might know, it would be disastrous since they would be greedy for more, and sooner or later others will know about the ZC's use. No need for me to interfere."

Hua Meili smiled back at them as she walked towards the couch and lazily leaned her back on it while she thought of the future ahead of them.

Thinking so, she could not help but shake her head thinking about the people she doesn't want to meet most but she just had to meet.

"In the initial stages of the Apocalypse, you must have a big head start over others, this way you would have a big advantage in the later stages. You can think of me as selfish but being selfish sometimes could make you survive in this chaotic world."

Flashing them a wicked smile she looked at the boundless sky outside the window.

Her gaze to the sky but her thoughts were a million miles away.

"We need to get stronger than the others if we want to live longer. Don't worry, I will tell my Gege about it in the future. As long as I can trust that they will not stab Jin behind his back, they will surely benefit."

After saying her final piece, Hua Meili walked over to the open door and turn towards them before she left.

"Goodbye, take care of the Mansion for me."
